Though the term "lot" is nebulous, and subject to wide interpretation, in the context that it means a large proportion of the non-Obama supporters it's just plain WRONG, nothing resembling a fact. For those that at their core oppose an overly dominant/opressive government, he's no more despised than Nancy Pelosi (to site just one example of a universe of possibilities)........I'd dare say he's somewhat more popular than her. Based on polling he's no more despised than George Bush was/is, just a different subset of people. To call that race based is absurd, and, if the actual intentions of some who fling that crap be known, dishonest. Are there some (my contention relatively few) who have racially based hatred? Sure. But those of us, and I suggest that to varying degrees it's a comparatively large number, who know we're not basing our opposition on race, we're just fed up with the false charges. Some don't have the courage to vocally protest, others do. But "in the privacy of the voting booth" they'll vote accordingly...............i.e. against the false accusations. If I've learned to read you correctly over the years I suspect you'd be pissed to be lied about. Many have the same visceral feeling about being falsely accused of racism..............it's a lie about their personality, motivations, beliefs, and soul. I hope there's a significant backlash against such false charges................we'll be a better society for it if it happens.
