Since I was in Okinawa at the time Ohio sent me a ballot and I filled it out. And like Jim said there were moderates on both sides and I tried to figure out who I thought would do the best job and I still look at it that way although the moderates have seemed to disappeared. I like Claire McCaskill, but she cast the deciding vote on Obamacare and that turned me off. The Senate race in Missouri is about the only thing I'm undecided on after Akin's gaffe.
I'm across the line, but Akin just about reached up and nailed his own coffin lid down tight with his totally stupid statement about rape. I saw a political cartoon today that had him receiving a call hoping that he would not bale out, and the next panel was Claire on the other end, smiling broadly at the uptilt of her poll ratings since. Cute, but like you I fear she's a bit too much in Mr Obama's back pocket to be a reliable representative for Missouri.
