Ford Takes Back The Blue Oval
Ford finally owns its own logo again.
Why was it gone, and what did it take to get it back?

Ford pawned the emblem along with their headquarters, some factories, the rights to the Mustang and F-150 trademarks, and some other assets for a $23.5 billion loan in 2006. That loan was one of the main reasons why Ford didn't need bailout money along with GM and Chrysler two years later.

Yesterday's upgrade in Ford's credit rating to Baa3 by Moody's Investors Service released the collateral for their loan.
