The days of any poor person being elected to office are over. It matters little how these men made their money, they have it and that's what it will take to help buy the office for which they're running.
Are you saying that you want to continue paying Federal employees the highest possible wages that we can? That's taxpayer money that we're borrowing from the Orient to pay those wages. Do you think that's smart? In my opinion, unions outlived their usefulness after we passed laws to protect minors in the workplace. Since then, they have simply jacked up the price of everything to pay for fatcat lifestyles for the union leaders and made us far less competitive in the world marketplace. Between union fees and dues and corporate taxes, I have no idea how the United States can compete on ANY level with ANY product.
I really don't understand what you're saying here.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Hi! Not talking about federal employes! When construction of buildings with federal money(schools, courthouses, ect,)union and non-union companys bid on the jobs, the non-union companys have to use the prevailing wage in that area for there workers(carpenter, electrician, plumbers, ect)the non-union worker gets the hourly pay plus the benefit package in there paycheck(a raise in pay) for that job.the unions do not get the money the non-union worker does, and the union worker on that job gets his pay and his benefits go to his union hall just the same as on a union job.In the Philadelphia area non-union pay is less per hour with little or no benefits so they look forward to working on these projects. I believe its called the Davis-Bacon act? This is on new construction jobs and have to follow Federal building codes(size mic, fire, shelter for disaster,)any school or goverment building is built for safety during a disaster, go there for shelter! Hope I explained it I tend to rattle on! Pete
