For amc and '60s drag fans...
Just finished this one. It's a '68, and the power will be a stroked amc 390 with a cross ram manifold.
STREET CAR! :-)~#dcp_0280 (2)-1.jpg

I'd love to find an old AMX in decent shape!! There's a group here in the KC area, but they're pretty proud of their rides, price wise. That one's pretty cool!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Here are some detail shots... and a picture of the original Super Stock prototype from Hurst Performance.
Many used some sort of red-white-blue scheme, similar to this. We like the original since it was about 1/3rd of the car for each color.
You can see in the first shot how the pearl stars light up with the right light angle.Last edited by HOTRODPAINT; 02-03-2012 at 01:23 PM.

You did a very nice job on that. Is this an actual Super Stock AMX?

No. It is an original 390 car though.
This is the second or third one built by the guy's family. Each one is a little wilder. :-)
They also drag raced a gremlin years ago.

Great work as always Jay, very nicely done! Back in the old Super Stock daze, we had a local AMC dealer that backed one of the AMX cars..... It was a really sweet car, done in the red, white, & blue paint scheme.... Never was real competitive, the guy who owned it wasn't exactly up to speed on launching the car....most days the only round easier to win then the AMX was a bye run!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
