Historically - this has been a gas mileage race which to me make it boring. Occasionally one of these banked 1-1/2mile track races will produce an 'upset' winner, but it's usually one of the guys in the top 3-4 cars at 100 miles to go. Will I watch it anyhow? Probably, it's ingrainedDave W

I have always been a more than avid Nascar fan for over 30 years. I have found myself (in the last few years) not really caring if I missed watching a race.
Nascar has so much control anymore they might as well just build SPEC cars themselves and rent them to the teams.Bug

Ditto, I will probably skip this one tho'! or, wake up just after it finishes!
More and more folks are saying this! The "creativity / individuality is gone" , but it does make for more pack racing. Sadly, it's always the big money guys up front ( IMHO ).

I have hear commentary telling her you need to figure out how to finish a race first before you worry about what position your finishing in.I have said that I am just now taking a closer look at NASCAR,I have tons to learn, and I have seen guys finish races staying out of trouble race after race.I don't know because it is a stock car race how people do that.

Although she's new to stock cars, she has been in plenty of races. She just hasn't been lucky enough recently to be clear of disaster.
Look at Kurt Busch, recently he got knocked around 2 or 3 times and had to restart from the back. Fought his way to the front to win! Impressive, sure! But he was skilled and lucky in that the car wasn't wrecked bad enough to stop his progress.
She'll have her day I'm sure. She's driven her car to the pole position and she's got some of the best equipment available. If she shows patience and maturity I think her god given talent will put her in the winners circle.

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
