The latest commercial I've seen here in Vegas is some guy waxing on about how enthusiastic he is about his Volt, how it's the first car he's ever had that stirred automotive passion in him, and so on. Obviously not a "car guy". Anywho, it annoys me so much last night while he was talking I yelled DOLT. I guess that makes him, and maybe any other buyers a...............................Volt Dolt!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Gary - you risk the wrath of the greenie -weenies. I made the mistake of starting a Volt thread on Hotrodders.com site. OMG - even Shine got toasted some in the 396 replies to date.

A recall??? Well, that's certainly a first in the automotive industry!!!!! And what's this guy doing driving a car that has both an electric motor and a gasoline engine and gets really good mpg and is probably very well suited to a metropolitan area commuter???? Why the heck isn't he driving around all by himself in the city with some 4 WD crew cab truck with a lift kit like all the sensible people do?????
The tax rebate part of the car is a joke, but at least the manufacturer's are trying to do something to get their fleet ready to meet new CAFE standards. I guess if I lived in a city and wanted really cheap, really ugly transportation, I'd probably have to look at one too..... Different strokes for different folks, drive the car that fits your needs and makes you happy!!!!
Not everything designed to help clean up the environment and preserve natural resources is bad but, as with most any other issue, the radical elements and their extremes do more harm to their cause then they could ever do good!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Not sticking up for the greenies at all but if you look at the picture in the link you will see that the idiot was using a 3 outlet adapter just wonder what else he had pluged into it. They keep tallking about Voltage. Voltage don't care about wire size... ITS AMPS that get it hot. "LOAD" Some people shouldn't be doing these stories.
By the way I would not have one of those crap cars, Well maybe for free and then I'd stick a SBC in it.Charlie
Lovin' what I do and doing what I love

I wouldn't ohm one of those things. They buy an electric car, gettin' all amped up thinking they are gonna save a tree, then, watts this, they have to buy a set of batteries & blow a fuse when they see the price. Someday they may be more than just a phase, but for now they are just polarizing the public, some negative, some positive. I'm just going to insulate myself from the whole deal."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Gary they do not even need to be plugged in to catch fire. I have read two weeks after a crash the stupid things will ignite. Read at least 3 stories of folks loosing homes to the govertrons. Heard another great idea from Wash ......... algae how about a tank full of that? LMAO, and oh be sure to keep those tire pressures correct.
"greenies at all but if you look at the picture in the link you will see that the idiot"
Anyone but me see a connection there? Is that your face or did your pants fall down?

Just a thought, so what?
If the guy wants to spend the $$ likes his truck who's business is it ? To clarify I do not own one of these trucks, but do drive in and out of town by myself. The reason because I hear enough self appointed got all the answers experts during the day, driving is relaxing. Do not need some clown sitting in my car telling me how to live, what to eat, what to drive, or book to read.
If you really believe in your heart of hearts that mankind can destroy the planet, sounds to me like a huge ego. We are not that powerful .
just sayingIs that your face or did your pants fall down?
