TECH's Back?
Richard, it was good to open the forum this morning and see your avatar looking back at me with your no-nonsense, common sense, technically sound advice being doled out. Glad to see that you've got things settled enough to have time for the computer, and a little R&R car stuff again. Looking forward to your input on things, as you have time.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Another familiar face in the room, it's starting to feel cozy again. Welcome back Richard, it's good to see you, you've been missed. Now if we could get Ken, Don and a few more to show their faces it would really seem like a homecoming.

Ditto all that Roger said - I always appreciate your wit and wisdom! There are few people I concur with as often as I do with Richard, especially in terms of cams and carbs (still love the Q-Jets!).
Hope your move went well and look forward to seeing your posts again on a regular basis.

Good to hear from you again TECH/Richard! I did not know you were gone for a while because I got busy writing a second book that involved meeting deadlines that I did meet sometimes only by hours but that is done now. I am trying to finally get my fiberglass '29 running this summer. It is amazing that my joining date was in 2004 when I first bought a used SBC 350 but all I need to do is to finally get the horn working after a lot of fumbling with the headlight switch. At times the wiring seemed very discouraging and I just abandoned the car over the winter but recently I got it all working except the horn and now need to set the valves again. I am going to replace the present 1.6 ratio rockers with 1.5 roller rockers just until the 350 breaks in to avoid cam problems when it is started in July. I have been able to do almost all the work myself but John York has a turnkey Cobra shop close by and he replaced the 8" rear ring/pinion to a 3.55 ratio and plopped the 350 in the Brookville frame for me. I will try to get everything as finally finished as possible and hope that he can fit in a week at his shop to get it running and help with the Va title process. If I had $40,00 I could just purchase one of his finished Cobras but as it is I wiil finish up about $15,000 all together. Glad you are back on the Forum as a great source of expertise!
