Ah..........that working with wood stuff is too hard.................and all that sawdust to clean up........................THIS is much easier!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Easier & faster, yes, but not without it's design flaws if you still want fully functional and secure trunk space. My guess is that this "fix" was performed by a much younger person who is taking baby steps into the "fix-it" world, unlike the seasoned veteran who built his own wood-chip panel deck lid complete with heavy duty gate hinges and the ultra secure padlock from his Samsonite-like suitcase.
On the plus side for the newbie, there is usually plenty of replacement repair material in the dumpster behind the Piggly Wiggly.....just keep that duct tape handy. It also has a multitude of other uses...."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Now that's a real fix!!!! No fix is a good fix that doesn't involve duct tape and cardboard!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Bod this thread is getting better then the 3 word thing. The pictures are hilarious I think the most surprising thing about all of it is that this is exactly what some folks do. I have seen loads of duct tape fixes living in Ga, but the door handle is a new one. LMAOI have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

I'll be taking a break from this for a few days as we head to Cali. My beloved bride is graduating Saturday from her doctoral program at Pepperdine and I'll be away from my wonderful photo files. See ya Tuesday.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
