I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Yep, just saw that elsewhere. Tough ol' bird, got a lot more years than it looked like he was originally issued. Made a lot of sweet noise on this earth. RIP Shel....Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

The passing of a legend for sure.... what a footprint he leaves behind! When others said, "You can't" , Carroll said "let's do it!"

He definitely got things done, and often when dealt pretty weak hands, or what appeared to be weak hands at the time. From a chicken farm background he did so much more than OK, and he will be remembered for a long, long time.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

RIP Carroll!! Been my hero for many years. The man was nothing but racing and Hot Rods, his entire life was devoted to Motorsports! I doubt there will ever be another one like him...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!

Not a Ford guy myself, but had loads of respect for what this guy could do and did. Good human also more should emulate his persona. God bless Carroll Shelby a 1000 times !I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

The new 2012 Shelby is a thing of wonder! Will miss the old man. Bought raffle tickets last year for a cobra remake out of Fresno/Las Vegas. I had an aluminum skin, 427, and the dash was signed by Shelby! Needless to say I didn't win, but will purchase another next week if the vender shows up at our local car show! Dave, you couldn't have said it better, other than motorsports, he made a mean chili too! Will miss him! RIP Carol" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Something most people probably don't know about Carroll Shelby is that he was one of the country's longest-living heart transplant recipients. He received a heart back in 1990.
Then (if that's not enough to impress everybody) in 1996 he received a kidney transplant from his son.
A heck of a man in every respect.
Jim
Merry Christmas ya'll
