    Saturday evening... Car Show oddities!

Went to a show last night, and saw a few unusual cars there... which are always the first ones to really get my attention. :-)

You don't see the four-door hardtop '59 Chevies too often. This one had a freshly rebuilt 283.

The 49-50 Pontiac convertible is powered by a smallblock Chevy... but is a converted 4-door! I guess that makes it the only one! :-) That is the owner leaning into it!

The chopped Lincoln four door also has a Chevy smallblock. He wanted a Merc... but he bought this one as a complete stocker for $1500. That would not happen with a Merc! He is planning flat white with pinstriping.

The nicest custom paint there was on a group of low rider enthusiasts' cars. They all had some 'flake graphics... but the murals like this one put them over the top!

Walking through the Lowrider section at any show is liking walking through an art museum!!!! Never was much into murals on my own stuff, but you certainly do have to admire the artistic talent that goes into a mural like that!!!!

As a mural painter from the 70's & 80's I can appreciate the work involved.

Im glad the moredoors are getting more positive recognition. I like 'em because I'm a cheapskate and have been able to find some solid ones that are easy on the wallet.
