Jerry, I had a signed, plane to plane picture of "General Jim" Renschen in a F4, doing a fly by, lined up with the legs of the Arch hanging in the shop. One morning several years ago, a new customer asked me where I got that picture after explaining that I knew General Jim,he told me only gaurd members are supposed to have that picture. He then told me thats my bird, turns out he was the crew chief. He then started pointing out the meaning of all the decals and said see these ? He said these are confirmed Mig kills over Vietnam (I think there 5 or 6 of em ) I keep it at home now because the sun comming through the shops office windows was destroying it. General Jim later told me that Revell sells model kits of that plane and it now sits on a pole @ The Mo.Air Gaurd.Last edited by HWORRELL; 06-25-2012 at 11:50 AM.

Back in 68 or 69 I was taking flying lessons from a friend that was a pilot. One night we left Midway in Chicago flew around for a while did some touch and goes then he said it was time for fun.......He flew under one of the Chicago river bridges. He got in a bunch of trouble for that one.Charlie

Yeah, I don't disagree. Ya' never know what can come from a seemingly benign post in a public arena...
Not nearly as daring, but at NAS Corpus Christi we had pilots going through multi-engine school, headed for fleet patrol and support roles - old WWII S2's, built for submarine hunting, shipboard duty with wings that folded for storage. One morning as they prepared to send a plane out they found tree leaves caught in an aileron, and the wingtip cap missing. Turned out that the day before one of the students had solo'd, and on the way back to base he decided to buzz his granny's house but mis-judged his descent rate a bit and drug a wing through the top of a big elm tree in her front yard Once he got the plane parked and secured he figured he was home free. I think they washed him out of the flight program that day....Roger

Dave,
A friend (Army Guy) posted this earlier today, and I could not resist posting it here This is supposed to promote inter-branch communications, to ensure minimal mis-understandings
