    Photo posting

    Brent/Bill,
I know this is a old topic of sorts. This is the only site that I surf that is such a PITA to post directly from my photobucket account where I end up with links to the photo's.Things like Mark's build of his Astro van with that is just such a turn off.I'm going to one of the better car shows today and am almost talked myself out of sharing photo's because of that.

Man-I sure wish you could fix that.I know that other sites have the same server and do not have this problem.
    Good Bye

Why not just post your photos directly from your desktop, as attachments? That maybe the way others are using Photobucket images. Anytime I have seen images via Photobucket, I seem to remember it is just a link http:// too their photos, pasted in the post. Photobucket is a completely different application and data base, so the only way to get there is using your http// link.
If I am reading your question correctly you wish to access photos that are in Photobuckt, the same way we can look at the photos that are seen at the top of the CHR's page. If I have it right, this will not be possible as you would like it to be, one downfall of computers. The Photobucket photos are on the Photobuckets server, not CHRs.
I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

    Gary,
If I understand your complaint it is that when you try to post pictures from your PhotoBucket account the thread then contains a link address as opposed to showing the image in the thread, the same way that Mark's posts do from another photo server that he uses, which you find annoying. When I asked for help with PhotoBucket some time back, Flipper_1938 provided this concise direction:
When you wave your mouse over the thumbnail of the desired pic in your photobucket album. a box will appear for sharing an image. Click on the last sub-box that says " IMG Code". it will copy the link to that pic.

On here, right mouse click and select paste. The photobucket link should appear.

Club Hot Rod will let you paste 35 picture links in a single post.
Hope this helps, and that I did not mis-understand your problem.
    Roger

Roger, I just followed Flipper's instructions and here are the results. Works great! I always wondered how he got so many pics in one post...
I usually just pulled images from my computer 5 at a time, which can be a pain if you have lots you want to share and I can certainly understand Gary's frustration if he's trying to post progress pics and only the link shows up in the thread. A lot of people won't take the time to click on the links.

This is what I have always done - but sometimes it will just post the link - but for whatever reason, it usually works fine - except when it doesn't It is better then the site method. You will lose that photo tho if you delete, move or otherwise change it in the Photobucket account. The site method is permanent.

The issue has to do with Photobucket and not CHR. Follow the instructions as noted above and they turn out just fine (90% of the time, again a Photobucket issue, not CHR). You want us to direct link to that database (internal server to server), sorry, that will not happen any time soon (again a photobucket issue with coding, not CHR's).

    Bill,
My point here is with me surfing as I do,I have posted normally pix's from photobucket on other V-bulletin sites by just copying and paste. No extra steps. And I have had photobucket for yrs to post on god knows how many other sites. We have to give alot of credit to guys on here after taking pixs of the work they have done on a project which does slow them down.Only to have to take those extra steps to post them on here.
    Good Bye

Well I jump in with My $0.02 I don't see anyone else asking for personal attention. I have problems posting pictures because "I" my camera takes a bigger picture than can be uploaded without taking up more space than needed SO "I" reduce the size if "I" want to post them. Its all part of partisapation certainly not a big deal. I post on another site and size is not an isue they come out right.. As I said No big deal

I've never had a problem with photobucket as long as I use the IMG code.

Yep-that's what I use too from photobucket.I use the bulk loader function and it automatically reduces the size.
