    Another Gasser Loss

I do not know Robert personally and have no way to verify the report, but one of the members here asked me via a PM to let people here know that we lost another part of the Gasser hot rod family when Robert "Bones" Balogh lost his wife Tuesday at about 1:30pm. Robert/Bones is legendary in the Gasser world, and it's been said that his wife was an amazing partner, mother and a friend to many through the years. For those who may not be familiar with his history here's a Google link to a wide range of web links, including his Facebook page - https://www.google.com/search?aq=1&o...t+bones+balogh

I remember him racing at Indy! Didn't he drive for a famous name team?

Says he partnered with Big John Mazmanian after they went heads a few times. Here's a link that also shows most/all of his cars - Bones Balogh

I also remember the Bones Dubach & Pisano Willys. I'll check those pics out. :-)

I didn't know he drove the J&J Muffler Altered.

Thanks again rspears for reaching out. I've lived next door to Bones and his wife Kay for many years and was lucky enough to have gone racing with them for several of those years. She was like family to many. Always making sure everybody was ok. She would go to the races but never watched Bones run. She was a bit on the nervous side. She will be missed greatly by many.
On a lighter note, there's Gasser action coming up. I can't remember they're name but some guys are building an exact replica of the Mazmanian 41 Willy's. The only difference will be 426 blown hemi on alcohal, upgraded susension, and any safety rules stuff that has changed through the years(roll cage, etc.). They actually made an "Old Gasser" Class for the Nationals in Indy this year. Fred Bear, Barbara Hamilton, Bones, and others will be racing like the old days, just with a LiL more power. Alright, I'm out for now, back to work.
