Wow! I love the Austin Healey 3000's, and that Jag XK-120 is super cool, too!

Ohio state route 35 is the first exit when you enter Ohio from the west and my step father lives about 25 miles down the road. The cars are sitting in a lot right outside of New Lebanon. I'm not sure of the year of the Ford in the background, but it appeared in good shape and I don't know what make is the car sitting in front of the white Jag.

Yep Ken, I believe it is a Bentley. Here's a picture of a mid-30's Bentley hood ornament, and it seems to match that shape -

    Maybe something around a '59??

Ken, that would be a Jaguar Mk VII, VIII, or IX, built from '50-'61

    I think so........a Mark V from the early '50s.

Yeah Rog, they didn't always use the leaping cat ornament, confused me for a moment too.

I guess if I'd of looked closer I'd have seen the name on the emblem. I was in somewhat of a hurry and also didn't want to incur the owner's wrath if he was so inclined.

A layer of asphalt, an electrical feed, some fence and some bleachers...... Of course the farmer in the distance might not be a race fan, but he'd have great seats every Sunday!!

The last picture, as far as I remember, is where the starting line was and one set of bleachers to the right. We didn't have a return strip so "hot" cars were pushed down the strip to start. One day a dragster was pushed down the strip and I guess he had problems and didn't come back so we lined two more cars and sent them on their way. Just about the time I dropped the flag he he came up the strip which made things somewhat interesting. No one got hurt though the dragster driver was a bit upset to say the least.

We had the same thing at Thunder Valley back in the 60's, and (of course) it was called the "Hot Car Gate"! Push cars would bring them through the gate, give them a push start, then they'd go down to the starting line, do their U-turn, burn out, a dry hop, then launch them suckers!!!!!!!!! The rest of us came through the staging lanes, pulled on the strip, backed into the 'water box' which was a low spot in the blacktop, then went up to the lights with a couple dry hops along the way!!!!
