does your car make others speed?
i noticed while driving the 27 chevy.
that when at a stoplight many times the person next to me will be somehow forced to rev the hell out of his/her engine and take off when it turns green. (it doesnt matter what kind of car that person is in).
usually a pickup truck but even soccer moms will become possesed with this temporary madness.
it doesnt happen when i am in my other cars.
does this happen to you?a hot rod is whatever i decide it is.

I've noticed the same thing with my son's Camaro. When I first rode with him people would rev their engines, even when meeting him going the opposite direction. I asked Jeff what's up with that & he said it happens all the time."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Yes to the rev and go thing, you do realize that is jealous envy. I think it rather hilarious cause they sound like a fan or a hooped up air hose as they whoosh down the road. Another comedy event is the open window and loud radio man that takes some talent to turn a knob. My music loud pipes takes care of that . If cool were easy everyone would be, enjoy the show.
Me I am not cool but I am free to live as I like and drive the car of my choice. Digging the hell out of all that and all that it implies.I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

I hate it when they pull alongside you on the highway and either "hang" there or give you the revs while traffic is piling up behind..

Used to get it a lot 20 plus years ago, when I built up my Chevy LUV,with 350/350,etc..But it was usually at the second set of lights that it happened,,maybe cos it didn't stand out too much, and by the time I rumbled on to the next set of lights,,everyone heard the gentle rumble of a V8,,so everyone wanted a race..Upset them a bit when I ignored them..
The next time it happened was when I got the Monaco on the road, complete with stroked B/B..Same effect.. Doesn't happen now,in the ol'F100 work truck..Micah 6:8

I get it in the Cobra, and just ignore it.
Surprisingly enough I also get it when driving the Morris Minor.
They just can't believe that a car of that age/era can cover the ground so quickly.
It's very often highly amusing at passing lanes when I pull out to pass.
I look in the mirror at the driver behind me and his face is twisted like he's just sucked a lemon.
And he's mouthing bad words at me.
I check again four or five seconds later after I've pulled her back a couple of cogs and stood on the loud pedal, and his mouth is in an 'O' shape and his eyebrows are in his hair-line.
They just aren't expecting it from a supposedly eight horse-power car.
All good.
(But then they've just got to pass me to 'prove' their superiority! Tee-hee!)
