being an ambassador to our hobby
i walked outside the hotel and there was this big dude taking pictures of my car.
so i walked up and said hi.
turns out he was a french tourist that didnt speak english.
through sign language i asked him if he wanted to go for a spin in the 27 chevy.
he was REAL into the idea.
so i took him for a quick spin around the area.
the guy was like a lil kid
real excited and taking movies of the ride.
afterwards he shook my hand repeatedly while jabbering away in french with a big smile.
it was pretty comical watching this big galoot cram himself into this dinky little truck.
anyway ,
i just thought i would share a cool thing that happened to me.
being friendly is free and makes everyone feel good.

Wow, Billy for the leadership role for the United Nations...... imagine if everybody who owns a Hotrod did something like that, we may have a more peaceful existence with our fellow man. A memory that he will enjoy for many years I would think and on behalf of the Family here, thankyou Billy.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Kudos, Billy, ain't it funny how a piece of iron, steel and rubber can introduce you to so many nice people?
That's probably the biggest asset that Antique/Classic/Rods provides for me..

Back to the "ambassador" role I haven't had opportunity to give a non-English speaking tourist a ride in my car, but one thing I watch for at the shows & cruises I attend is kids who are walking around with Dad (or MOM), listening to them talk about the cars. I like to hop up, pop the driver's door open, slide the seat up and tell the kiddo, "Hop in, grab that shift knob with your right hand and the wheel with the left!" and get back out of the way a bit. Nine times out of ten the parent is snapping pictures as fast as they can, and the kiddo has this great grin pasted on his mug, and he's still smiling as he walks away with Dad!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
Merry Christmas ya'll
