One Excited Texan here !
It looks like I'm finally gonna get to go to California and meet some long time internet Car Buddies.
So far I have met and shook hands with 3 members of another Car Forum and tomorrow (18th) I'm flying outa Houston to Bakersfield to hook up with a friend from Oregon (Bad Rat) who is also a member here. He has really helped me a lot during the last several years. Another couple of internet buds will be there also so I'm really looking forward to the trip and experience.
I'll be staying in Bakersfield but the Hot Rod Reunion and Cacklefest is at the Famoso Raceway.
While I'm out there, if I have time, I hope to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time, all the Hot Rods and Drag Races (eliminations), some Nostalgic slingshots and other famous dragsters at the Cacklefest Saturday night and, if I'm lucky, I might even take in the Buck Owens Museum. LOL

Jerry is going to be out there, be fun to catch up with him! Hope you take along the camera and come back with a ton of pics for us!

I'm taking extra batteries and memory cards but the bad part is "I" will be the one taking the pics and vids.
Hopefully, when I get back, I can manage to post a thread with everything in a clickable Photobucket link so it will be user friendly and Forum friendly also..

Thats kool,Emm,,have a real good time out there,,and watch out for Kiwis..We have taken over the place for a few days(daze)...weeks.. i believe there are about 100 or so NZ'ers up there,so you might think you have gone further afield than you have..
..
A Kiwi called Paul(Pins)Sattler has his FED up there as well,so it could be interesting to watch..Micah 6:8

Em - can I just sulk in envy? Yeah, I know, could have probably hooked up as well. Just take lots of pictures and do a Photobucket public album so we can all be happy with your trip account. Have a great time, say hi to BR and the others for me too.

Heck what a awesome trip and I want to see photo's of the Buck Owens museum please. I saw him in concert in NZ with Susan Ray and he is really good artist. One of my friends, Mr T Bucket, Ted Brown lives in Bakersfield, and I am envious of you as he is one person I could spend time with. Enjoy your yourself and be safe amongst all those petrolheads.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Flying out to LAX thursday morning and driving up to Bakersfield--will be hanging out at Cruz Pedregons trailer with the California Charger Tribute Firebird Funnycar on Friday and Saturday---no definite plans yet as to where we'll be staying but will be at the gathering Friday Night?

Jerry, I will be hanging out with Bill Parten (Bad Rat) while I'm there but we have a friend, Dan Ronding (Dinger Dan) that also hangs out at someone's trailer there so hopefully we can get by and shake your hand. I'm the babe in the woods, so to speak, on this one and will be following the leader. We'll only be at Famoso on Saturday and Saturday Night.
