First Cold Front - Ugh!!
Well, it was a matter of time - 80F yesterday afternoon, breezes from the south and this morning the wind shifted around, bringing the cold. It's been dropping steadily through the morning, now at 42F with a "Feels Like" of 33F. I'm thinking it's Dave's fault, sending his cold my way trying to get rid of it Last I looked Sioux Falls was 34F, feeling like 23F Too early for this!!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

it's supposed to hit here tomorrow sometime with highs in the 60s and low in the 40s and that will be a welcomed sight.

I guess if I had to choose between that cold front and what's coming up the coast towards Upstate NY, that front would win - and might just change all the predicted rain to some ug-el-ly white drifts. Home is in NY and about 1/8" from where MA and VT meetDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Sorry Roger, forgot to close that dang gate again last night and all that cold air from the Great White North had nothing to stop it till it got to KC!!!!! Got about 1/2" of snow here last night, the girls think it's great, but I believe they're in the minority!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

You fellers are nuts to live in them places ! When I was up in Dave Seversons neck of the woods they had rail road crossing type of gates on the highways so they could shut the roads down when it snows !!!!! I asked about em on one of our fuel stops, the guy told me son,we measure snow in feet not inches around here. Screw that......... No wonder they gave that place to them poor Indians !Last edited by HWORRELL; 10-25-2012 at 04:07 PM.

Well, we got Snow here last night-the Wife is on her way to Ft Collins, CO (to visit Grandchildren-did I mention that Grandmothers have a disease? It's called Grandchildren-on-the-Brain and it's definitely terminal)-I know they got about 4" up there last night, so I am little nervous as she is going over Vail Pass and through the Eisenhour Tunnel (11,000')-thank Gawd for 4wd-Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

The cold should be hitting VA in a couple of days.. I was really hoping to paint my current project before it got cold. I guess I'll have to wait until spring.

They are saying out West that if that cold front you are a feeling mixes up with the Hurricane the SWHTF. Better have everything buttoned up.

I've live in the Rockies and on the Gulf Coast and I prefer neither hurricane nor snow.
Hey Dave, good luck to y'all thru this mess..

sandy is suppose to come on shore close enough here to make it real interesting. then it is suppose to turn into frankenstorm and hit north of us. everyone north of me please stay safe. Charlie's base is already on alert for it and norfolk is at alert status 4. they are closing all of our tunnels in the eastern part of the state for a few hours tonight to test the flood gates.BARB

Hope everyone stays safe and well with Sandy bouncing around...
We're expecting a 6.5' swell with a 15 second period later this afternoon.
Which is great for some of us!!!
to coin a phrase...
SURFS UP!!!...at least I'm enjoying the ride!

Down here close to the Gulf they describe the West side of the Hurricane as "the clean side" and the East side as "the dirty side" .
This has pretty much been the case in all of the storms that I have witnessed here in Texas so good luck to all of you no matter
which side you end up on..
