NASCAR handed out a few fines and probation time...However with one race left and probation til the end of the year gotta wonder why they bothered. Gordon got hit with a $100K fine and lost 25 points, not either of those mean much on his wages, and he was already out of contention on the points anyway... Pastor Bubba was right, nothing but a slap on the hand....

I almost hate to say it but, I expected as much! Jeff Gordon and Chevrolet get their way every time!

Just about any other driver... and certainly any other manufacturer would've been banned for the last race!

Next time a driver waits on the track and retaliates.. Last time was on pit road and that was bad enough! But to wait on the track (and get no yellow!) just to retaliate!!

Only Jeff Gordon & Chevrolet!! What a mess!

I was reminded yesterday that when Kyle Busch did the retaliation thing with Hornady he was already on probation, at least that's what NASCAR is using as the rationale for no suspensions!!!! Probably about as close to consistency in handing out punishment as we should expect them to get when dealing with Gordon, I suppose....

Like him or not, Jeff Gordon is not the 'usual' suspect and has seldom gotten into trouble. He has never caused many problems nor has he over the 18-20 years he has been in NA$CAR. He and Bowyer seem to be magnets, same as Edwards and Keselowski were a year ago, Logano and Newman, Danica and Cassill( I think) etc, etc, etc. Every one of those drivers in the 43 regular racers have dumped someone that has 'caused them harm'. Look at your regular Saturday night warriors on your local track - bet you can find a good many 'suspects' there as well - maybe even Dave S in the distant past.

Kyle Busch last year - well that was another storm brewed up over a period of time. Hornaday is NOT a particularly clean driver He an Busch had had several encounters, unfortunately, again, Kyle chose the wrong time for revenge.

Now, IMO, Gordon did what he needed to do but chose the wrong place and time and included too many others in his retaliation - 5-6 cars at $100+K less the engine is over a half million of their hard fought for sponsor's bucks. He needs to mend a few more driver/owner fences besides suffering the NA$CAR $100K fine and points. As far as Bowyer - heck, there have been a few races this year where he has hit about everything but the pace car.

FWIW, I am not a fan of Gordon, Bowyer, either Busch or Hornaday

Well, Jeff Gordon didn't have any problem going after Matt Kenseth last year on pit road after the race and face to face! I'll respect him for that one!!!

Waiting on the track, at a crawl, (which should've drawn a yellow flag and didn't) just to go after another driver and use the car as a weapon. That's to much imho. Other guys have done the bump and run to say they are unhappy about an incident, but, this one was way different. And Gordon has some history of leading with his bumper and ruffling feathers too.... I just felt (then & now) that the incident crossed way over the line of fair play. But welcome to NASCAR! LOL..
