NASCAR Champions
Well Ricky Stenhouse won back to back Nationwide Championships and is headed to the big show in NASCAR.
Now we'll see who gets the championship in the big series, Jimme Johnson or Brad Keselowski.
I'll have to admit that neither one would be my favorite to win but, they got it done and deserve to win so if I need to choose 1, I'll hope it's Brad K., Jimmie has done it a few times so it'll be good to see someone else at the top again.

I'm with you on Bad Brad winning it! He has his issues (don't we all) but he's done quite well for himself so far in NASCAR, would be good to see him win it!!!! Being the old dirt burner that I am, I was really pulling for Kasey Kahne, mainly cuz he dumps so much money in a couple sprint car teams and isn't likely to forget where he started out!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I hope BK wins it just because Roger Penske has never had a cup championship. Hard to believe that BK could give him his first.Bug

So, if the Captain, Roger Penske, adds his first ever NASCAR championship to his list of accomplishments, should we rename him the Major, or maybe Colonel Penske??? Man his given his life to motorsports in most every form there is, would be great to see him get this one too!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

It's time for Penske to reach yet another pinnacle...................he's earned the possibility. Go BK!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

At least someone took Keselowski 'out back' and suggested that it might be a good day to be conservative. Then Bowyer sneaking past Johnson for second. I'm not a big fan of any of the first 3, though anyone but Johnson is fine with me. Billionaire Roger Penske finally bought himself a NA$CAR championship along with the last, for a while, anyhow Dodge {Fiat?} win.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Lots of NASCAR fans were tired of the "plain vanilla" champions, the Johnson's and Gordon's who always try to say the right thing to the right crowd and now they have Brad who is anything but!!!!! A third generation racer from Detroit who grew up in racing....His father (Bob) raced NASCAR North and ARCA for many years, building his own stuff and being competitive doing it! Just 3 years in Sprint Cup and Brad drove his way to a Championship in a Dodge. At the start of the season I remember all the "experts" saying how the Penske teams were going to just roll over and play dead this year, waiting til next year with the Ford's to be able to be competitive. So, here they come with a very young team, and a crew chief named Paul Wolfe that nobody had ever heard of...Also out of the NASCAR North series, an ex-driver himself turned Crew Chief, who seems to be able to communicate so well with driver and team. They started races with a lot of cars that didn't handle, and during the course of the race tuned the car to be competitive and finish up front consistently! Brad is also one of those drivers who could build the car himself if he had too as he grew up in his father's shop doing just that.
So, Roger Penske started out with a young driver with only 3 years experience who says what's on his mind and can back it up, a Crew Chief and team that nobody had ever heard of (Paul brought some guys with him when he signed on as Crew Chief), scrapped, struggled, and fought his way to the front in the majority of races this year, survived a couple far less then perfect races during the Chase, and came out on top of the heap over the Best of the Best crews and drivers most with at least twice their experience. Yup, I guess Roger Penske just "bought" the Championship after only 27 years of trying......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
