So sorry for the loss of your brother & friend, Ted, especially tied to the holiday. As time passes maybe the memories of all the good times will overshadow any bad vibes, and become treasures from the past. Thinking of you today as we're working around the house.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I am sorry for all that you are going through, especially at this time of the year. Nobody can explain why stuff like this happens, especially all at once, but don't give up and know that there are many people thinking of and praying for you and your family.

I remember some girl singing "This too, shall pass ....".
Not much comfort when it seems that bad stuff is coming at you from all sides, but it's true. Sometimes you feel like the biblical "Job".
We're thinking about you, Ted.

Sorry to hear the news Ted. Makes celebrating the Holidays seem pretty insignificant." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

It seems that if you are lucky enough to survive all of the potential physical problems in life... the bad choices you make in your youth... plus the mistakes of those around you... you also live long enough to start losing loved ones!
We have lost many in the last 10 years, and it seems to be accelerating. We finally found a compromise...
Instead of feeling sad, we finally accepted the 100% probability that we all die at some point. The people who went before us are an inspiration... as we were able to bring many great times to them... and they to us! We were truley blessed to share life experiences with them.
Then we started celebrating how fortunate we are to live long... how lucky we were to share life experiences and love with the people around us... and the fact that we found many wonderful things in our own lives that many are not blessed with.
The saddest thing we face now is that some people around us have reacted badly to other's death... ulimately causing further unnessesary pain and sorrow. We try to make the best of that knowledge, and encourage others to set aside the grief and anger, in the hope of making the best result somewhat possible.
I know that the hardest time is right after losing someone, and maybe some of these thoughts will help you more after you have started healing some.
Don't forget to be thankful for your own good fortunes... and that even though life has some big "speedbumps"... it is better to have lived, than not. God will bless you, if he hasn't already.Last edited by HOTRODPAINT; 11-24-2012 at 01:58 PM.
