Thanks
I just thank God & an alert doctor for saving my wife. (short version of a long story)
Cheryl went to a cardiologist after having chest pains. He did an angiogram and said there was a minor blockage that could be taken care of with medication.
Medication didn't work.
Doctor said...... Oh yes he did say this when she complained the chest pains were not getting better but actually worse.... Everybody your age can expect some pains as you get older, don't worry so much about it.
Got a second opinion at that point...
Second doctor did some tests, then a second angiogram.
Doc #2 found a 70% blockage in the artery they call the widow maker. It's very near where main arteries intersect so putting in a stent was a little tricky, but he managed to get it done successfully. He says she will eventually need buypass surgery. What was really scary is the blockage was coming loose. If it had she would have been gone. The blockage was acting like a flapper valve, again could have been a bad outcome. Doc said she is very fortunate, as she was a walking time bomb.
I SURE AM GLAD WE GOT THAT SECOND OPINION. NOTE: NEVER TAKE WHAT A DOCTOR TELLS YOU AS ACCURATE JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A DOCTOR, THEY MAKE MISTAKES TOO"PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Good news for sure - - - folks in my family call that "Divine Intervention" and no one will ever convince us otherwise.
However, no matter what anyone calls it, thank God for Doc #2 - - - wishing her a speedy recovery.

Hopefully Doc #2 has the name of Doc #1 and will take appropriate action to let him know of his shortcomings. Regardless, you have much to be thankful for in this special season we're approaching. Hoping that you and Cheryl enjoy a very special Christmas this year, filled with the wonder and awe that children see.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. Yea Roger there is a story behind the whole deal. Our's isn't the only case (we found this out after the fact). Doc' #1 & Doc #2 actually used to work at the same hospital. Doc #2 moved to another hospital because of Doc #1. Many Many patients moved to hospital #2 following Doc #2.
That's the reader's digest version of the long story.
We 've decided to put it behind us & move on. However, if something comes of this and they ask, we''ll be all to happy to tell them about our experience with Doc #1.
BTW: Doc. #2 is my new hero."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Glad she's doing well, and that she got a second opinion. Working in health care, I don't know what's scarier, patients or the medical staff. Most of us work hard to give the best care we can, but some are just incompetent and or unsafe. Always good idea to get second opinion when facing some medical uncertainty! Again glad she got the right help and in time!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
