Sad as always over these type of senseless massacres. It seems even more poinient that so many little children were killed, and my heart breaks for their parents. Asking why seems to be the inevitable question none of us has a answer for. I hope in view of this travesty, we are able to stay intact as a group of members on this forum." Ladies and Gents,
As you'll notice with my previous posts on this thread, I am a bit harsh when it comes to the senseless death of children. This past year we have had three that hit close to home.
1st: 13 year old who committed suicide (parents are good friends of the family
2nd: 15 year old who also committed suicide (next door neighbor)
3rd: 9 year old killed as she was walking to school (related)
Then the unthinkable happens in CT and while reviewing threads on the forums I moderate I run across the bickering about gun control (both for and against) here.
Not sure about you, but I am currently haunted by the following image:
It brings back a flood of memories that have me overwhelmed (not something that I have ever felt in my 49 years) to the point of true frustration and anger.
I am not making excuses, just want all of you to know where I am coming from and why I did what I did on this thread.
Bill S.Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.

Good morning friends, 1st., I would like to apologies to each and every friend here for starting a post that went in a direction I certainly didn't mean at the time of writing. I had just got out to my computer with the radio on in the back ground when the lead story on the news was about the tragedy and I was so shocked that I just wrote what my heart felt at that time. I am a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Family and although many question our believes, I have respect for any persons personal beliefs , whether they are Catholic, Baptist, Muslin, Bahia or whatever. I question how a very intelligent young man can go so far of the rails to kill these young children but realize that there is no easy answers . My prays and heart will still continue to go out to all the families effect by this tragedy. Again I apologies for any misunderstanding I caused and it certainly wasn't my attention to make a personal attack on my friends here.
I hope this goes someway to mending bridges that may have resulted and I cerrtainly don't wish Glenn or anybody else to depart from this marvelous site.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Bill I'm sorry to hear what you have went thru on top of this tragedy. I too meant no offense in my post. It has been a hard year nationally with all the terrible acts that have been committed, and personally for us too. My wife lost her mom to cancer, I lost an Uncle and a Aunt. The picture you posted has brought tears to my eyes. No parent should ever have to go thru the loss of a child." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I still can't figure out how anyone just decides in a split second.."I'm going to go kill"........that just boggles my mind that thought can enter a persons mind.
We have a daughter and my sister-in-law who are teachers along with a 2 gransons in school. They are realizing that school on Monday will be a whole new day with lots of questions and apprehension.
Our hearts go out to all those families and may those kids rest in peace.

A tragedy.
Initiated by an extremely twisted person.
Gun control wouldn't have helped.
It's a specious argument.
When a mind is as twisted as this individual's he would have found some other way to commit his slaughter if he couldn't get access to firearms...I read not very long ago where some person in China perpetrated a similar incident on seventeen (I think,) innocent schoolchildren using knives.
Should knives be banned?
It would make no difference.
A car driven into a group of kids; should cars be banned?
All we can do really is to give our thoughts, prayers, and sympathy for the victims...including parents, relatives, and friends.
Because they are all victims too.
My thoughts are with them all.
No-one should bury their own child.

Do you suppose all the immediate attention from the White House came about because the shooters father is a VP of finance at GE and Ob's
has the CEO of GE on his staff???????

Jerry...
An interesting twist, but no..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Then can you explain why there isn't any interest from him shown toward his former chief of staff's city's killings?????????

I think that the possibility exists that these events(and WH personnel changes) could possibly point towards some policy changes that start us down the path where we don't want to go-
On 2 different channels---CNN Pierce Morgan and MSNBC Martin Bashir----both are hammering us with the guns are evil----UK doesn't have guns---all anti gun malarky----As far as I am concerned, they can go back over there--we revolted 250 years ago to be what we are and not what they were-----

Interesting people who are so sick to pray on people who are so defenseless and have enough logic not to try to take on someone with equal force. In fact the reports that came out is his kid planned this out trying to destroy a hard drive that came from his house.
To use this event for any agenda is certainly at the expense of the loss of life that occurred.
I saw Obama in his address a man who was trying to hold back tears someone who cares about his country and it's people. That simple. He isn't that good of a actor.Just a parent effected like all of us on the kids that got killed.

It certainly affected us here. I still can't imagine anyone killing all those children. It just breaks one's heart. A friend of mine mentioned there are probably presents under those families trees, for children who will never wake up and open them Christmas day.
They arrested an 18 year old yesterday who posted he wanted to do the same here, just sick twisted people who need psychiatric help before they hurt anyone." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
