We've completely ditched satellite and gone full internet on the TV. There's so much more to watch and it's a lot cheaper. We got a box from Wal Mart called a Roku. Through Roku we get Netflix ($8 per month) and Amazon prime ($79 per year). You also get several free movie channels. Between these we get thousands of movies and TV shows of all kinds available for on demand watching. No recording, just go to the show you want, pick the episode you want, and watch at your convienience.
Then we got a free service called TV Fanatic. Just download for free on the internet. Through this you get all the major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, plus a few others. We use a laptop, and use our TV as the monitor to watch all the shows on these.
Bottom line is we get 100 times the available programming we had before for a fraction of the cost. We get older movies, newer movies, older and current TV shows; it's an endless amount of options. All you need is a good high speed internet connection.Last edited by falconvan; 12-17-2012 at 11:26 AM.
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
