The Vietnam wall it is not, graphic it is
"Above and Beyond"
When visitors first enter the museum, they will hear a sound like wind chimes coming from above them and their attention will be drawn upward 24 feet to the ceiling of the two-story high atrium.
Dog tags of the more than 58,000 service men and women who died in the Vietnam War hang from the ceiling of the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago on Veterans Day, November 11, 2010. The 10-by-40-foot sculpture, entitled Above & Beyond, was designed by Ned Broderick and Richard Steinbock.
The tens of thousands of metal dog tags are suspended 24 feet in the air, 1 inch apart, from fine lines that allow them to move and chime with shifting air currents. Museum employees using a kiosk and laser pointer help visitors locate the exact dog tag with the imprinted name of their lost friend or relative.

Neat idea. Wonder why never heard about this one? But then, it's been 40 years...........................................

I was too young to understand what the Vietnam war was about but this " monument " to the 58,000 women and men who died from the USA, not including the New Zealanders and Aussies that laid their life's on the line for what......what did America accomplish and who won and what was the resulting advantage to the USA ??? Yes I'm bit pee'd at the moment because I think of all the destruction, death and have to ask why ? Has the American people asked why the Government of the day decide to drop two atom bombs on Japan when "they " knew the Japanese where going to surrender before those aircraft were even air borne ? You people seem to think that you are the worlds greatest country and leaders but , hell when you stop and think about it,you are all so screwed up saluting the darn flag, you don't notice young men going off the tracks resulting in unnecessary killings. Wake up folks and get your own back yard tidied before you force your opinions on somebody else I say. Oh another fact too, how is the Vet's that have been lucky enough to return home been looked after... ? That me, I am out of here, Food for thought eh....I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.
