    Winter Sucks!!

We're at about 8F this morning, so I went out to the barn/shop this morning on the way up to get the paper. Found that the milkhouse heater I have in the head had quit working during the night Toilet had a a layer of ice in the bowl and in the tank around the float Sink valve was frozen, too Got things thawed enough to get the toilet flowing, and found that the basin valve broke from the ice Guess I get to play plumber today, and also stop by and pick up a new heater, too.

About the same temp here, just went out in the garage and turned up the heat so I can get some work done on the pickup.

Hope things get better down your way Roger, playing plumber has got to be the worst job in the world!

Yeah, not too bad replacing a faucet unit. At least no split pipes, cause I think I'd have to weld up a long T-wrench to turn the water to the barn off Maybe that needs to be a project for today, just so it's done for next time....

Record for above freezing temps during the day.

We are still going & are in third place to date.

So far - not many problems here though we are 'promised' a few flurries with up to a foot, foot and a half of white stuff by Friday morning. Temps have been mostly in the 30s day time and 25 or so at night with last night being about 18 and really the coldest we have seen. I had almost decided on mowing the front yard on Monday as the grass was still growing

The tractor mounted snow blower is ready just in case, the genset is gassed, and since this is a predicted '2 loaf of bread' storm, have them laid on. Then there is the daughter/husband and their herd arriving, have some extras,

Sounds like you have your day well planned Roger - at least nothing you had expected to do on a cool and blustery day in Kansas.

We are just swimming through the holidays. Rain everyother day. No fun driving home from Hospital in downpour at Midnight the last few days!. Looking forward to a few days off, starting tomorrow.

At this point we'd be happy even with snow. We need moisture bad. If we have another dry winter we will be in trouble going into spring/summer. Water levels are lower than I've ever seen, we're even loosing trees.

Been a very dry fall and early winter around here, too.... Hoping we get some good moisture early this year, we sure don't need another dry one like last year!!!!!

Over here on the Right Coast, we had a dusting of snow for a white christmas but it was gone by noon. Yesterday was cold and clear but last night the real storm landed and it brought with it high winds and heavy rain.

We have about 4-5 inches of fairly heavy snow - the blower went right trhough it but the drive shaft for it kept blowing off so retapped the set screw for a bigger one and the trouble has 'disappeared'. Took a while longer then normal, but really not very cold. At least it LOOKS like winter

    Lots of rain here.

Had to bring in flowers last night, low was predicted below freezing.
