Very nice engines Roger and Jim. I used to have some .049s but I have no idea where they ended up. I used to mess with some control line airplanes but never had much luck. 5 to 6 rounds was about it too. It's always really windy at my parent's place and I wasn't an experienced pilot. I did have a 57 chevy car that had a little nitro engine in it. I don't remember the size but my Uncle Jay gave it to me. His mom, my grandmother, hated when he ran it in the house. It was pretty fun to me.
When the cheaper Styrofoam rc planes came out 10yrs ago I bought a P40 from the local hobby store. I flew it about 4 times and it was going well until the last flight. The plane must have gotten out of range and caught a "jet stream" and I never saw it again. I think it ended up in a creek and down it because I looked a few different times and had 0 luck retrieving it.
Jim, that old truck is so cool. You did a great job. The more you show on the rusty 40 the more I like it. So nice!Ryan

SO I went down into the basement and rummaged through boxes and found these items, maybe you'll be interested? There were more "little trinkets" like models and such but they're all store bought and I wasn't interested in unwrapping them! Lazy?? LOL.. I did shrink these down somewhat. Hopefully they make it on here without to much more trouble. I also discovered a "treasure" to me.. a NHRA ballcap signed by Bob Glidden at his last ever National Event win. Englishtown NJ. I've never worn it and I had my picture taken with Bob at the same time. He was a very gracious and friendly man!
Looks like I have more edits to make. Here's the first to make it. The Mustang was an "Authorized" Dealer promotion piece the wife found at a Brimfield vendor booth. Been rode hard and put up wet! So maybe a candidate for radio control?? Maybe?? The steam plant is a Wilesco piece out of Germany. Hasn't run in decades.Last edited by 34_40; 11-13-2022 at 10:40 AM.

Wow I haven't seen one of these steam engines in decades. I googled wilesco and found out they still make many different versions. Yours is unique to what I could find in that you have a pressure gauge!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Wow went back searching and found a bunch of cool things to be powered by the steam engines. This one in particular brings to memory of one of our CHR members posts years ago with an actual working wood shop that was either steam or water wheel driven, or maybe electric motor so long ago , but watching all the belt driven wood shop tools was very cool as it is in this mini version.

Mike P. had a lineshaft setup in his garage. Used a Deere John engine I believe , he had shared pics and a video here a while back.

Wow, check out that price tag! And that one uses an electric heater for making steam? Why the plug?

Found this one on EvilBay, and the description says it's electric heated vs fuel tabs, and is no longer in their product line. Also tags it as being from the '60's - https://www.ebay.com/itm/20409238906...0aAjiHEALw_wcBRoger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I can see where the electric coil to make steam might be a benefit vs. the fuel pellets. I hadn't even ever thought to look at Ebay for one of these.. But it's been in the basement for a decade now anyway, I guess over this winter I can clean and oil it at a minimum.

Yes they are making the electric ones again, as the pellets are supposed to be used in a well vented environment, electric more convenient" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
