Thanks for the reminder, Howard!!!! Went through the results, looks like a couple of our locals (Jody Rosenboom & Justin Henderson) are holding their own!!!! That dang Larson kid is always going too fast, Smoke did get 2nd so he's having some great qualifiers and should be in good shape for the Big Day!!!!!! After Larson won all 4 features in New Zealand, betcha the "down under" guy's are tired of him already!!!!!!

Yeah That Larson kid is sumpin else. And Actually it was Kyle Larson 1.Brady Bacon 2 and Smoke 3,which locks em all 3 into Saturdays Main. Me and the Palazzolo team are heading down in the morning for our turn tommorow night,Dang jobs interfere with all the fun. They had to request a thursday or Friday night run and take the trailer down Sunday to be able to get it in the building and then come back home to make a few bucks. We are takin my 9 year old grandson with us,been takin him to the local midget shows last summer and he's hooked. Can't wait to see his face when we walk into that joint tommorow afternoon. Here's a pic of The Smitty's Garage/Palazzolo entry.

Kewl!!! Hope he does good with the car! A bit of history for him on the "70" car.... Bill built (and raced one) the CAE house cars back in the late 60's, early 70's out on the West Coast, then Bill would load up a car and a bunch of spares and come back here to race in the summer.... Wrenched for him the summer I got hurt in Super Mods, then went back to California with him in the fall, we raced at Ascot and San Gabriel back there. At 20 years old I doubt Pete has ever even heard of CAE parts!!!!!!

Probably makes the Kiwis more determined to get him back down,so we can try and beat him..lol..Used to love having Sleepy Tripp,Mel Kenyon,,Stan Fox,and all the other big names racing at the Springs..Was worth the entry fee to watch them push the Aussies out of the way,,(figuratively speaking) so our drivers could race them without any hassles..

True?? He must be getting on in life,now,too..Hope he has a full recovery..
The main reason I went to speedway, some nights, was to watch those guys race,,and their manners..I think they really liked coming down and playing with the weekend warriors,,which is what us Kiwis have always been..

Congrats to Howard's God Son, Pet Palazzolo!!!! His first time out at the Chili Bowl, not a bad finish considering there was 260+ of the best Midget cars and drivers in the entire world there competing!!!!!

    F Feature 1 (10 Laps): 1. 8K-Blake Hahn[9]; 2. 7S-Hunter Schuerenberg[1]; 3. 2B-Tyler Reddick[2]; 4. 1W-Paul White[5]; 5. 06-Mario Clouser[16]; 6. 11J-Travis Berryhill[13]; 7. 24E-Cody Darrah[14]; 8. 21X-Kurt Mayhew[3]; 9. 7DA-Dakoda Armstrong[10]; 10. 70-Peter Palazzolo[6]; 11. 32A-Garrett Aitken[8]; 12. 84-Joey Fabozzi[12]; 13. 0-Glenn Styres[15]; 14. 56X-Mark Chisholm[7]; 15. 6-Aaron Pierce[11]; DNS 17R-Kyle Steffens

Finishing 10th in the F is a very good outing for a first timer!!!!! (The features start at "J", BTW) That's not a bunch of nobody's that he was racing against, either!!!!

Oh yeah, Kevin Swindell won the "A" Feature again, that's 4 in a row for him (phenomenal record!) and 9 wins between him and his Dad, Sammy!!!!!!

Dave wasn't his first one. He ran one 2 years ago. But it was the first time he had sat in a midget since then. But yes it was an impressive run in thursday nights B with an ailing injection and loosing the brakes 2 laps from the finish missing the transfer by 3? spots (had it covered until then) that got him into Saturdays F feature. His car was scattered on the shop floor just 6 weeks ago and other than being fired for the first time for about 10 minutes in 20 degree weather just a few days before leaving for Tulsa it had a few bugs we had to work on. In Saturdays F a dang AN fitting broke @ the power steering pump 2 laps in soaking his legs with hot power steering fluid. He toughed it out but told me he was ready to quit a few laps from the checker. Any body who doesn't know I'd challenge Mike Tyson to drive a midget for 20 laps with a broke power steering. Not sure how the fitting broke but that's racing. Best thing of all is car went back in the trailer with out a scratch one. And I guarantee ya that's a huge accomplishment @ the Chili Bowl.I'm still smiling from it all. I understand its supposed to be televised on ABC or CBS some time in February. And yeah it's The Swindell/Swindell show But That dang Larson kid proved once again that he is the real deal.

Thanks for the correction, Howard, just finishing the Chili Bowl and having a car left to load on the trailer is one heck of an accomplishment!!!! The broken power steering is far worse then no power steering at all, been there done that and it sure as heck isn't any fun!!!!!

Never have seen anything like them Swindell's when it comes to drawing the right pill!!!! Can't take a thing away from either of them, though---9 wins in the family is one heck of an accomplishment!!!!! Even then, old Slammin' Sammy couldn't be gracious about the kid getting his win, had to remind everyone that HE built the car!!!!!

These kids like Larson are certainly exciting to watch!!!! Hope Pete didn't get too badly wounded from the hot fluid on his legs, nothing worse then burns!!!!!!

Dave, luckily was only 2 laps in and that show is run so fast and tight that you roll down the ramp, they shove you on the track push you off and you better be in line by 2 laps (racecievers) cuzz they're goin green with or without ya,so it only had 2 slow & 2 fast laps too heat up.
