Sorry to hear this news! Hope your memories are of all the good times over the years..

We have a cat who moved in and adopted us.. he is always in one of our laps and snuggles in bed with us. I've never had a cat so affectionate.

Thanks for the words of sympathy, friends. She held the record for animal longevity at our house.

As for coyotes ........ Well, I do realize that they, like us, are God's creatures and they have to eat, too.

But I'm still going to go out and buy a box of .22 shorts, Tech!

    it aint easy

nope it aint. I pick up milk at farms and bring it to the processing plants. One farm had up to 18 cats ,ranging from newborns to2yr olds. Iam there every other day and fed them 72lbs of dry and 12 large cans of wet every month. So igot real attached to them all. 4 I took home over the past 3 yrs and they are great...many others past by way of a inhumane farmer treatment...I tear up when i think of it too much....

    It ain't easy, is it?

She was born under our back porch and was, believe it or not, an only child. The total litter. She was what some people refer to as a long haired "pastel calico". The usual orange and black areas that calicos are required by law to have were light gray and peach colored. Unusual.

She loved me, liked my daughter, tolerated my son, and hated my wife.

Several years ago she locked horns with some other animal that really kicked her rear end good. That time she managed to escape by scrambling under the deck but she had to do a few days in the hospital.

Well, this time was too much for her. We suspected what the culprit was both times, Now, I'd bet on it. The next day Jane and I saw a damn coyote bounding across the road close to the house.

I'm in possession of equipment sufficient to blow that s.o.b. in two if I get a chance, but this area has grown up to the extent that I'd likely get thrown in the slammer if I did.

What the heck. If I see it again I just might try.

Fear not, Emmett. I could never harm Wiley.

Wiley and I share a common problem. Like him, everything I try to do ends in spectacular failure.

I appreciate your way of thinking, Shine.

And, Ajbcc2, you are a good man to take on that expense.

If it wasn't for Feral Cats havng kittens, Coyotes would probably become extinct or, at least, much easier targets.
