Still and Clear in KC
Still snowin' and clear up to our butts!! Actually it stopped snowing a bit ago, and I thought for sure we had a foot, looking out at the table on the deck, but out on the road it only measured 9.5". We only had a bit over an inch at 7am, and it was going at 2"/hour for a while. Getting some freezing mist now

I suppose Mike will say this is more paybacks for hassling him about not posting pictures....Roger

For two mornings now, our flat land Gulf Coast weather man on the Local Houston channel has described Y'alls storm as "Thunder Snow ! I think he's been watching too many Dr. Quinn reruns ?.

Thunder snow ocurs here in Michigan occasionally too. It’ just like a thunderstorm in the summer, with thunder and lightning, except with snow instead of rain. It’s really wierd!

Yep, we definitely had "Thunder Snow"! Just like in a rain storm we'd get a flash of lightning (which was pretty much invisible due to the heavy snow), and then the sharp clap of thunder. The way our weather people explained was that if we heard the thunder it indicated that we were indeed seeing the big storm they had predicted, and we'd better stand by for the dump!Roger

That last storm that nailed New England had the thunder snow (with lightning) here in Southeastern Mass. , we've seen it before and I'm sure it'll happen again. Difference with that last one though was the lightning was clearly visible as it reflected off the snow that was in the air and on the ground! Made for a blinding flash or white! That part was scary!

I'll bet that's odd - - - the only time I've lived in Snow country it was in the Rocky Mtns at 10,000' and we did get our share every winter but when it was snowing it was so exceptionally quite that it was almost spooky..

Wow! What started out as a possibility of "...a little more snow..." late in the weekend has now been upgraded to a full blown storm Sunday evening through Tuesday dropping 5-10" of additional white stuffRoger
