Been picking away at it for several months,again..Only 600 hours into it.. main problem has been money, them finding the time to get onto it..Then,for 12 month, trying to get my bud up country,to come and do the chassis work.. Body off/on twice,,motor and trans in and out twice, for various reasons,,More to it than ever met the eye..And,the chassis has been modified,to take the power steer box,,we have a matching column,,even setting that up has been more than 40 hours in the making..About to start rehashing the headers, and all the other several little bits and pieces under the dash,,which I painted last weekend..Have sorted a heater(I think),and also need to find a wiper motor to suit..Still have to sort out a shifter, and build a center console, etc,to suit the setup..Still need to run fuel line, and do the wiring,,finish setting up the rear anti sway bar,,and a few bits of bodywork to be finished,....And on top of all this,,Lynda is taking a pile of pix,,mainly for the certifier,,so it makes his job easier.. When this Cusso hits the road,,no one will recognise it..Only the body, chassis, and front end are the survivors from nearly ten years ago..

Robin, all that work sounds like you've had it in the shop for the typical 10 year tune up!!!!

Today I plan to sample a few different Irish beers in preparation for St. Patty's Day tomorrow. I started last night with some Rogue Irish Lager ...pretty good but a bit too light for my taste.

Not wrong,Dave.. Originally came off the road to do the rust in the rear quarters, and one door was a bit scabby..When I looked underneath the rear of the body,,it was not a pretty sight,,so the decision was made to strip it,and do a QUICK rebuild.. Hmmmm..no such luck..The last build was definitely a ''budget'' build..When it takes you 2 hours to remove a bumper,,(all the bolts/nuts,mismatched junk),it's time to rip in and leave no stone unturned..plus,other refining, power steer, new mags/tires,,new everything,almost.. From there,I have sorta got a bit carried away...New rear quarters, bottoms of the doors,,as I said,,no stone unturned..

Have you got a build thread started Robin with photo's as I'm not at all aware of Lynda's car apart from when you have mentioned it in conversation. What size Ford engine are you using, 292 Y block with triple carbies or something modern like a 351 Cleveland ? Does the car have any old Hot Rod history here in NZ ? Yeah I hear you, nosing bugger eh !!

I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Lynda has owned the car for 22 years,,bought it off her old NSRA friends, from Cambridge..Was 302W/C4 when she bought it,,reco'd the engine about 18 years ago, then the trans a year or two later..That combo has done another 45,000miles in the truck,so it has a later engine now, with 4stage auto,,new Weiand Stealth intake/600 Edelbrock, and I am about to start rehashing the headers,to suit the car..Also found a pair of old Cal Custom finned alloy rocker covers,at the right price,as well..
