NASCAR @ Fontana
Well, Kyle winds both Nationwide and Cup...
And I'm finding new respect for Lagano for standing his ground and he drove his _ ss off all day! Chubby Stewart pops his cork 'cause the kid throws a block then throws a hissy fit!!
Just another entry to the continuing saga.. as the stomach turns..

Joey Logano-----Hmmmm. I guess that's not exactly how I saw the end of the race. Smoke would probably be the last driver in NASCAR thinking he owed me one!!!
But, it's good to see Joey has friends yet, don't think he has many left on the track!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I didn't say friends! Just glad he's standing up for himself, first Hamlin roughs him up last week (and he apparantely paid for it this weekend) and now Smoker.... Chubby got blocked and it was clean by my eyes! After the race he and his crew end up at Laganos pit??? HMmmm... if nothing else, I love the passion..
Wonder how many fines get tossed around tomorrow!

Tony and joey were pitting 2-3 pits from each other. when Tony stopped at Joeys pit his crew ran down there.
I do agree that Tony was just mad for loosing 20 or so spots but a lot of cars that were on the inside lost spots on the re-starts. Less than 10 laps to go, what does he expect. Have to say though, Tony had one heck of a car that whole race.
Got to see it almost front row. Sat right in front of Tonys pits, 15 rows up.
I'll try and get all of my pictures and videos loaded on Photobucket. I have no idea how to post pictures on this site. Probably easy enough though.Last edited by Bug; 03-27-2013 at 06:52 PM.

Joey spun the tires, then dropped down to block.... Blocking is part of racing, but Joey was blocking because he screwed up..... Smoke has a long memory, payback's are tough!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave,
Why should Tony be mad at Joey for blocking. He did not wreck anybody (note: Tony at Talladega last year when he blocked Mike Waltrip and took out half of the field). But Tony said that he was just trying to hold his position, just like Joey was.
Not trying to start an argument really, it is the way that "most if not all" of them race. You are there to win.
Thanks Ryan, I'll give that a try. The trouble is that I have a bunch of pictures and I dont want to bomb the thread. What would be the best size picture to post in a thread? Web Large "640 x 480"?Bug

Bug, this site actually resizes my pics from PB when I post them. I just figured out today how to resize with the new site and I usually set them to 640x480 like you mentioned. And I highly doubt these guys care if you bomb the thread with pics. I'm guessing you may have been the only board member there.Ryan

As an ex-driver, when the guy is actually ahead of you and making the power to stay there and blocks, yup, that's racing....
But when the guy spins the tires on the restart, then drops down in front of a car that's going much faster then he is and runs him down on the apron still blocking..... That's racing too....but it leads to paybacks. Not saying any of it's right or wrong, just that I don't think it's right to make up for spinning the tires on the restart by running the guy behind you down to the apron.
I guess if Joey wants to play big boy games, then he'd better be ready to take big boy paybacks. So far it's been pretty much all one way with Joey, he's been giving a lot more then receiving and I would expect that is going to change now! Not just with Smoke, but I doubt Denny Hamlin is real pleased with him right now, either. I did get a kick out of Kyle Busch laughing at the way both Joey and Denny took each other out on the last lap and gave him the win!!!! I don't think Smoke is going to be the worst nightmare showing up in Joey's mirror as the season progresses!!!!!
My final thought, reporter's who stick a camera and microphone in front of a driver right after an incident should be beaten to a pulp!!!! The emotions are too high and the adrenalin is still pumping too much, and a driver is going to say things that are inappropriate. But then I guess that gives the TV know-it-all's something to talk about all week and try to get some "drama" going by trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I am a Tony Stewart fan more that a Joey Lagano for sure and yes Tony "WILL" get him back.
I do believe that reporters should not have contact with the drivers for at least 15 minutes (more like 30 minutes if that would even be enough time) after a situation like that. It would be a shame if they fine Tony for anything that he did or say after the race.
The TV was sure trying to drive up ratings by bringing up Joey and Dennys issues last week over and over again. That is for sure.Bug

Well it all seemed ironical to me with Lagano leaving the Gibbs team where he was a team mate with Hamlin and then Joe Gibbs replaced Lagano with Kyle Busch. Generally speaking those last few laps are always going to be full of drama. For what it is worth I thought Lagano intentionally nudged Hamlin (after he blocked Stewart) and he may have a rough season after this! The next short track race should be a demolition derby!

Tony was Denny and Kyle's team mate. When Tony went to create Stewart-Haas Racing, JGR hired Joey. Joey left JGR (or was told to leave) & they hired Matt.Bug

My memory of the crash that killed Dale Earnhardt was less severe than the bounce off the wall that Denny survived! The initial reaction to Earnhardt's crash was just that his car was wrecked but then he didn't move! The morning paper says Denny has a crushed vertebrae at the base of his Lumbar region so he may be out for a while? Anyway the improvements in equipment since Earnhardt's crash may have saved Denny's life?

The new here on Denny said compression fractures----bummer. They've been my nemesis since 1970. Hopefully orthopedic specialists have a better way with fixing them today!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
