    RIP Art Malone

Saw on BangShift that Art Malone, Drag Racing Legend, passed away at age 76. There's a tribute from Garlits here - Art Malone - Drag Racing Pioneer and American Racing Legend Dead At 76 Years Old | BangShift.comBangShift.com If you take time to read Don's tribute you'll learn of their deep friendship since childhood, and that Art's introduction to drag racing was when Garlits was severely burned in 1959. It's obvious that Garlits cared deeply for Art Malone. RIP Art.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I am pretty sure Art drove one of the swamp rats for Don when Don couldn't because of his eyes at the Empire Nationals. He put on one hell of a show.

Wasn't he know as "Colonel" Art Malone? I seem to want to say that. I remember the days he was involved in drag racing.
