Very interesting point raised in the story too, the dog doesn't get down on not being able to see but makes the most of life with what she does have. A heck of a lot of humans could learn that lesson from that dog, thanks for the story Emm.

Yep, a great story, and a lesson about dealing with what some see as limitations.Roger

Great story - new eyes in heaven for sure 'cause dogs will be in heaven. Sees with her heart. Good word and we should take that away and perhaps learn a lesson.
Know that I’ve not been here much lately as we (Joanie and I) had a tough go for the past few months in loosing Joanie’s mom, Anne. Anne was a lovely lady who was well, happy, and healthy and a vibrant part of our daily lives. Day after Christmas we had to take her to the ER as she was fainting. Doctors kept her for a week and determined that she had very low blood pressure, but couldn’t determine why. Her health deteriorated and she could no longer live alone so we moved her to an assisted living / foster home run by a little “Romanian Angel”. Long story short, Anne died February 17th, day after Joanie and my 40th anniversary. We were with her when she passed and fortunately she appeared to be calm and at peace as she let Joanie’s hand go and stepped into heaven. While she was a Godly woman and we know she went to the arms of Jesus and is once again whole and happy – it took a bit of a toll on us and I’ve been flyin’ a bit beneath the radar. It was especially hard on Joanie as the youngest child and they were very close. Those of us who’ve been married for any time at all know when the queen hurts we all hurt.
I have been “lurking” (saw your comment on Glyptal, Pat!!) and will start posting a bit and get back to speed as time with y’all is great therapy.
Sorry for the hi-jack but the dog story just brought the best out in me – I do so love dogs as they have been some of my best friends over these past sixty some years.

Glenn,,so very sorry to hear of yours and Joanie's loss..Although it's an inevitable part of life,,it's tough going, when it happens.. i lost my father 4 years ago now,,and it's still hard without him,,even though we didn't see each other as often as we should have.. We both (Lynda and I) still have our mothers, and as time marches on,we will probably not be ready when their time comes..(both in excellent health, and 84)..All we can hope for is that they don't suffer, and pass quietly..Both Lynda and I send you two our condolences..Micah 6:8

Sorry for your loss, Glenn... We all know that death is the final chapter of life here on earth, but even knowing what comes after death is seldom a comfort when we lose family and friends... Condolences to you both from us.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I love that dog story and as already mentioned, humans can learn a lot from such experiences and behaviour. I know I have in the past. I had a few wonderful dog friends/pets over the years but have been without one now for about 8 years since my lab Dewey passed away. With my boys old enough now to help with pet care it's time to get another one. Dewey's name came from "do we want a pet or don't we" but he turned out so cool I called him Admiral Dewey.
Glenn,
My sincere sympathies to you and Joanie and your family.Nick

I am so sorry to hear of your's and Joanies loss, Glenn. My Mother in Law was as close to me as my own Mom, and her passing left a big divot in mine and my Bride's field, but then we learned to run on the uneven terrain.
Thanks for the inspirational vid, Em, sort-a reminded me of our "Champ" - he could see, but had the same sort of spirit.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
