Appreciation Day for Hot Rods and Classics

Sure wish I had enuff confidence in my '62 to take her to this one since it's about 15 miles from the house but I'd better not do a mini-first-outing in the dark.

    Em,
I'm just trying to help you keep an open mind about going to this show.

Tempting, Nick, very very tempting - - - I'm even thinking about it more seriously now. If my buddy with the '66 Chevelle goes and will caravan with me, I may just BITE THE BULLET. Dang you, I thought you were my friend. LOL

Where's your spirit of adventure? In '64 I stared for Camp Pendleton in my 36 5window with a newly installed engine, 2 days before I left, no second gear and the battery bit the dust somewhere in Okla. Now granted I was a wee bit younger then, but............

Bite your lip and take the trip.
It will be fun... if you have problems, it just makes the story more interesting.

First trip in my 40, started it on Friday evening, Sat morn left for 2500 mile jaunt. Found out the wipers did not work, gas guage never read anything, and I had put a new intake on without an oil filler - valve covers did not have holes either - if I needed oil, it was going to be poured into the dipstick tube. So, didn't really have much problems. Again, go for it.

Well, it was 101 degrees and 100% humidity at 4pm on my front porch and that's why I stayed home. Took the '62 for a little round around the neighborhood yesterday evening and she did just fine (tops was 210 degrees) but I know what a slow idling traffic jam it was gonna be on the Square and I would have been a soaking wet old phart even before I got parked !
