Tomorrow (Friday) if it doesn't rain, we'll be making a couple passes at the track to see what effect the Nitrous & my Rossler 210 has on Jeff's camaro. Switching from a 6 spd. with double overdrive, to an automatic @ 1:1 & adding a good shot of nitrous, I'm pretty sure it will run out of gear before the 1/4 stripe. Hopefully a good 1/8 mile pull will give an indication of the gear it needs. (has 4:30's now)."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Wow Nick!
It's bloody gorgeous when things like that happen!
We were in Rangiora (six or seven hundred miles from home,) a few years back, stopped for some groceries, and when we came out two blokes were standing looking at the '47.
I nodded ''Gidday" to them and opened the door to put the bags in.
"Your car?" said one.
"Yep."
"It's a '47." he said.
"Yep."
"It's got a '46 grille in it!"
Hello! This bloke knows his cars!
So we got talking, and it turns out he's owned thirty or forty of them over the years.
"Do you have any spare body trim?" I asked.
"Yep."
He had the majority of the parts I was looking for.
A few weeks later I got a parcel in the mail with the parts, and a wee note, which read: 'No charge.'
How cool is that?
We kept in contact for many years, but he moved, and I lost track of him.
But you never know what that next fella you meet purely by chance may have stashed in his shed!Last edited by johnboy; 07-25-2013 at 10:42 PM. Reason: karnt spel

That's a cool story Nick.. maybe you could "sneak" a pic or two??
This evening I have to figure out if it's the water pump bearings or the alternator bearings making noises and then affect repairs.. Shame that they didn't have any "noises" when the motor was out and apart! GRrrrrr..

Got me a hot date this afternoon/evening; two of my three 10 year old granddaughters will be keeping me company, or aggravating me, or just plain driving me to distraction. Grandma just left for the rest of the day, and the girls will be here in less than an hour; I gotta find something to do with them.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

Haven`t been on for a while, at the tail end of recup after surgery, they removed a disc, ( L2 ) after 20 years of pain I decided to get it done, 90 percent better, no leg pain anymore, I kept putting it off hoping the surgery would be better as I got older and it was, only a two inch scar, they had me up and walking the next day, then sent me home I was doing so good....things are looking better....Toys

Good to see you here again 406Rich. I had L5 done last year, I went in basically a cripple, couldn't even stand straight up, left 5 hours later walking out on my own.

Wiffy said OK, but with one stipulation and that was that I had to repaint it Autumn colors in the Fall, Christmas colors in the Winter, light Green and Tan in the Spring and then I could go back to Green in the Summer. Therefore I decided to go ahead and crank up the lawnmower and perspire and, man, can I do some perspiring. Reckon it's the 807s?.

EM your not getting any grass cut looking at your computer. When you get your car back? I only have 5 acres I cut. Maybe this afternoon. If grass dries.Charlie

Finished cutting the side and back - - - not much here but before we moved it took me 4 hours to mow the entire yard but I still miss that place like the dickens. Sold my riding lawnmower when we moved because there's so much to mow around here plus some step ditches in front that it wouldn't have been an advantage at all. Got me a "tiny" one know that I have to push myslef but it's not too bad except for the heat.
Talked to the muffla man yesterday and he said that it was on the rack and he had the mufflers and tail pipes hanging underneath but just hadn't hooked it all up to the bottom yet. I gave him a couple other things to check and do so I imagine that, if he's open today, he will be calling pretty soon - - Monday at the latest probably..

We're leaving in a couple hours to stay "down the shore" for a couple weeks. That's local lingo for going to the Jersey shore. This year we rented a house on the beach block in Margate, NJ just down the street from Lucy the elephant. Just a minute ago I said to wifey "if I figure out a way to come back home and get the hot rod I'm going to drive it down so I can cruise the shore with it" So the plan is to ask my two boys if one of their buddies is coming down with a car who can then take me home etc. and I'll live happily ever after for the next two weeks.
I love Lucy!

Good Plan, Nick, especially when you included the "duece" - - - cruising the beach in an open air Ride is as good as it gets. Enjoy and, of course, pics are mandatory.
Be safe,
