NZ Earthquake
I only saw a piece of a story about a large earthquake in New Zealand...
Hope all our members and their families are ok!
Hope all the folks there are okay too!

Been watching the news all morning, not a wheeze about it; hope things are ok, or not too bad.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

Hope everyone in that part of the world is OK. New Zealand's Lower North Island has been having a few jolts in the last few days.Nick

Thanks for the concern,guys..We are all okay in my neck o' the woods..We are 4 hours north of Wellington..Barb asked me if all was okay,yesterday,too.. Funny thing being,,that we didn't feel a thing,,but folks just south of us,and 20km north felt it/them..Johnboy is on the other side of Egmont,on the coast, and he probably felt it..We saw pix last night on fb..Made me quite sad,,seeing all the food, etc,on the floors, and the floor swimming in red wine,etc.. parts of Wellington are closed off today as a result..
here's a link....http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10901290

On a note of levity, I'm glad this wasn't caused by the bombs we dropped on the Great Barrier ReefNick

Thanks for the concern, but we're all good on our side of the hill. (Mt Egmont.)
I don't think I was the perpetrator of the shake . . . but . . . I sent an e-mail to 'Campbell Live' at 3:23 pm.
The quake was at 5:09 pm.
Perhaps that's when it was opened?
We certainly felt it here; a long 'roller' of a shake, lasting certainly more than thirty seconds, perhaps as long as a minute . . . hard to say; when the earth is moving for you the last thing you want to look at is your watch!
No 'real' damage; I store/display my McDonald's toys (I've got virtually every one that ever came in to NZ,) up in the mezzanine of my shed, a few fell over/down, but nothing got broken.
I was in my office, its got floor to ceiling bookshelves; my major concern was that I would wear some . . . but no; they all stayed in situ.
All good.

Just showed this to She Who Must Be Obeyed.
I expected a quiet chuckle at the comments; but was unprepared for the bursts of laughter!
She reckons you people are mad!
(In the nicest possible way of course!)

Glad you are ok, Johnboy. We're not mad, as you put it, but some of us have ridden out more than a few of those things, so we know things can go haywire during them sometimes, or others may never have had the exciting pleasure of a roller coaster ride while standing on flat ground, so don't know.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
