I take it this will be your first reunion. I have to tell you there ain't nothing like grandkids. You know Your project won't get done now as quick as it would have LOTS of time to the little guy. You got to take him everywhere and show him off. We got 16 and there just ain't time enough to go around. But I know you'll get/r done..GrandpaCharlie

Yep Charlie it'll be the first time we will see him in person.
Seen him lots of time via Skype but I prefer to have those I love close to me, easier to hug them.
And the project can wait unless he & his dad feel like helping the "old guy" out...Donate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

YEPPPPPERS shine, this grandpa is very excited.
My mother told me once that her dad really didn't care for my dad & was mad at my mom because there was such an age difference between them(18yrs) when the got married in 1950. Mom said all of that changed when we three kids came along. She said it changed him into a completely different person, I now understand what she was talking about. The closest thing I can compare it to is when Joe,Jr was born. I was a proud Father then & still am & will be just as proud of a grandfather. I will now know what my dad felt when us 3 kids had our kids & gave them grandchildren...joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

What great vibes I'm getting from this first face-to-face with the little grandson guy. I'm sure you will enjoy it so much! It (almost) makes me wish my own kids would start having kids so I can be a grand pa, too...but not to rush them too much.Nick

In about 7hrs I will be picking up our Daughter in law Danielle and our Grandson Ayden after a LONG plane ride from Japan and a missed flight. Our son Joe had to fly back to N.Carolina to get debriefed or whatever anal probing the Marine's will do to him. His in-laws Paul and Cindy will be picking his up I do believe. They allowed Joe into their home when he first showed up some 8yrs ago on their doorstep w/their son Joshua and treated him like family. Cindy & Paul went so far as to allow our son to date their daughter but also allowed him to marry her. She puts a smile on Joe's face and we are so happy to have Danielle in our family. I only wished all four of us Grandparent's could be together when our kids & grandson arrive home after 3yrs of being overseas.
I'm so excited I think my wife tinkled herself, LMAO ?????????Donate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Don't let anything or anyone bring down the excitement of this special time for you, Joe! Like Emmett says, you're headed for the best of the best, welcoming that bright eye'd little guy into your home and your hearts. Make the most of every second as you make up for time lost while they've been in Japan!! Enjoy!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Well after having to take a way out of the way detour because of an accident I arrived at the airport 10 minutes late BUT I saw Danielle & Ayden as I came through the airport doors. Walked up to them we gave each other a HUGE HUG, I got to hold my grandson for the first time & of course he stole my heart w/his first smile & laugh.
Here they are at the truck after we gather all their stuff at. Denise & I am on cloud 9 at this moment....joe
