Randy, now I"m embarrassed but, even tho I drove it for about 25 miles thru the back roads that day, I could not SWEAR that it was a 3 or 4. I do know that it shifted and drove great and my Grandson even said "Pawpaw, you drive it much better than Dad was doing. He was grinding and missing gears !" - - I rememeber telling him it was my years of experience driving POS's and this one was a pleasure..
