Crikey!
That was nearly a disaster!
CHR reckoned I was an usurper pretending to be me, and wouldn't allow me access with the lap-top . . . and dumped me from the desk-top (this one,) too!
It has taken me about an hour to log back in again.
Although most of that was my fault . . . with my failing eyesight I mistook a 1 for an I.
So after five attempts I got banned for fifteen minutes.

The station with the $.15 sign is a sort of museum and I believe the second one is operational and they both lie on stretches that have been bypassed.Ken Thomas

Just to let everyone know, jb & Rosie arrived in Chicago, did some local site seeing and got acclimated to the local time, and Rosie texted that they "...saw Dave's plane yesterday, and are heading SW toward Joliet, IL and the White Fence Farm this morning. I've not seen anything from jb on the computer yet, so not sure if he's linked up the laptop or not. Our weather guy says that we're headed to a great weekend after a rainy week, so the Ottawa, KS Old Marais River Run car show should be a great one this year!Roger

Haven't heard anything to date. Unfortunately, work has taken me on the road the last couple days. I'll be around this afternoon, but I have a meeting to be at, 5pm.

Had a note from johnboy and they are in Staunton, IL for the night, hoping to catch Ted Drew's Custard sometime tomorrow. He mentioned that he had tried to hook up with Pro70Z28 but no joy - left a message and had to keep moving. jb says he's going to be at our place tomorrow evening, ready to hit the car show down in Ottawa Saturday morning, but it's a 600+ miile jaunt if he stays on Route 66 through MO down to Joplin and then heads north off route. That'll be a long day.Roger

Hell, Staunton, Il is just about an hour away from me. If you hear from let him know that there is nothing really planned here tomorrow that I can't walk away from to get some Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Here's a typical weekend night at Ted Drewes.....joe

I met John and his lovely wife at Ted Drewes in St Louis, Mo. When I got there they were already enjoying Ted Drewes Famous Frozen Custard We BS'd for a while about their trip, where they are going and that they had done this trip once before with another group of people & didn't get the time to slowwww down and enjoy the sites of this country even more.
Here's proof they were here, sorry none of my ugly mug w/either of them since Johns wife has that pic & as we all know they're having problems getting on line here in the states. Soooo you'll have to just believe me that I did meet them & that I took this pic.
They are now on their way to Kansas City to meet up w/Roger & hopefully go to a car show there.
Hope they enjoy their stay in the states......joe

Glad you hooked up, Joe. I had a message from jb this morning agreeing that trying to cram 600 miles of driving into one day was not going to help with their "...see the details of Route 66" plan, so they'll be finding a place down in mid to western Missouri this evening, and then will drive up to Ottawa Saturday morning to take in the show and kick back a bit. We'll do our best to show them a good time, without getting too rowdy.....Roger
