Not hot rod related at all

I had a limb fall off a tree in my yard a few week ago. From the stains in the tree where it broke off I figured the tree was getting bad. It was only 15' from the house and was 50/60 ' tall. Today I cut it down and it went right where I wanted it. I can't get the pictures in order but I know you guys like pictures so here they are

I didn't realize how big that was till I looked at the pic with you standing next to the fallen tree. That is a SERIOUS BIG TREE! How big is your chainsaw? Not to sound greedy but I'd love to see a video of that tree starting to fall, cracking, and then dropping.

Saw 18" It was really cool as soon as it started I turned off the saw and set it down. It had to take 30 seconds to hit. Chris was taking pictures you can see it opening up as it went.

SPLITTER... Oh yes we have been heating with wood for about 4 years now it didn't take us long to figure we needed one of those. I didn't take it down for the wood. It was rotting from the inside out. Just didn't want it in my kitchen.

Okay, I'll be the Devils Advocate, where was the ear muffs and safety goggles or glasses mate ? I noticed the gloves so that is one point for you but a bad failure on the other safety points. Nice job though and yes, trees through the roof of a house can hurt.

Charlie, is it true you were having some trouble getting the saw started, Chris snapped this picture?

Yup.. No probs,Charlie..If it fell on your head,,your muffs and safety glasses would be about as much use as a chocolate teapot..

And,,Ted.. The enviro Nazis,,and all of their twisted brothers,,would have rather the tree fell on Charlie's house,first..We have a significant amount of likeminded ,umm,,, idiots telling us what to do too.. Our neighbour has a Kauri tree,,about 30 feet tall, close to our boundary fence,,and it has developed a lean,,thankfully towards his house.. Nice straight trunk,,on a protected tree.. Guess what.. yup..... If they try to stop him,,they will be carried out..(on a stretcher)

Started cutting up the tree today...Found it infested with ants all through the main trunk and out in some of the larger limbs. Glad I took it down.

I had a pest control guy tell me that ants, including "carpenter ants", don't actually destroy wood, but instead they reside in existing spaces and move existing chips, sawdust, and loose wood out of their way. Not sure......
