NASCAR in Texas today!!!!
Should be a good race, only 2 to go after this one so the boy's are gonna have to be running up front and staying out of trouble! Big wreck and a bad finish today can just about put you out of Championship contention.....
Either the smartest or the luckiest team will come out of this one ahead!!!!!
If I were a betting man, have to put my money on Kenseth!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I'm watching it now.. Gordon crashed and in the garage. Gotta admit tho'... my heart isn't in it. I've watched the last 8 - 10 races and this whole chase deal just don't get it for me!
Once they "felt bad" for Gordon and put him in as number 13... and he hadn't won a race all season long. That tears it for me! Guys who have won at least 1 race are on the outside looking in. Just don't make sense to me!

The chase isn't perfect, but it beats the heck out of the days when someone had the Championship won with 5 races left in the season!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Maybe.. Maybe not.. 4 weeks ago the "experts" at ESPN were already "dooming" those that they figured didn't have a chance. So the more it changed, it hasn't changed much at all!
I always thought that the win should get the most points and have more meaning.. my opinion and 2 bucks can get you a soda pop! 8-)

Forget the year, a bunch of us went to the fall race in Atalanta. Earnhardt already had the Championship won (with 3 races remaining), got booed every time he came down the front chute! Yeah, with the chase it's pretty easy to count up the remaining points left and see who's mathematically out of the hunt. Two years ago they modified the format to place more emphasis on wins, that's why Kenseth started out the chase in the points lead. This year could again come down to the last race at Homestead! The new NASCAR fans like drama, can't get much better then deciding the season champ at the last race......
Going back to my sprint car days, in '77 we won the track championship on the last turn of the last lap at the last race of the season.....in '78 we had the season championship wrapped up by the last race in July and everyone hated us!!!! Fans are fickle, when you give them what they want, they don't want it anyway.
I've come to the conclusion that this "new breed" of NASCAR fan loves the wrecks, loves the media crap about he said she said that he said, pays more attention to what the driver wears during an off track interview then how well his crew preps the car, and generally favor the driver who creates the most "drama" that the media experts can hype up!!!!!
I still appreciate the planning, the strategy, the pit crew efficiency, driver's ability to analyze handling and tell the crew chief what the car's doing, Crew Chief's ability to take that information and improve the car's handling, and a driver's ability to save the car, go fast when it counts, and cruise when it don't!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I think the majority of the "New NASCAR Fan" have already left and moved on to something else. Even the boards that used to be swamped with posts are dead! Those of us that are left, we probably have been watching for years..
Goodyears are no secret, track is cold and fast, and they are running the air pressures lower to get ahold of the track. Add in a bunch of camber and there you go! Ripping the tread right off of it!
Looks like J.J. has the field covered "AGAIN"!!! Yawn..

Yeah, 6 second lead with 30 to go---hard to beat that 48 bunch when you give them that much..... Kyle was speeding on the pit stop, so Kenseth moved up a spot anyway!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

YEP! kudos to'em for being the class of the field today.
On one of the forums I frequent for nascar, some of the folks who are very close to a couple of teams say that Hendrick has more engineers than most of the other teams have complete staff!
It paid off for them today!

Well, whatever they've got and however they use it, they're dang good at it!!!!! Next week is short track time at Phoenix, got to give the nod to Kenseth there---and Jimmy never has been that impressive at Homestead!!!!

And the "pundits" are now calling it a two horse race, even tho' Harvick has won at both of these upcoming tracks! And he can mathmatically pull it off if he gets some help!
Yep, warm up the fat lady!

So, if Kenseth and Johnson get taken out on a first lap wreck at Phoenix, suppose they'll still be calling it a 2 man race????
Sure do like the fact that these things are settled on the track and not by the statistics and the "experts"!!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

HAH! Good one!! Yep.. I'm sure glad they have to actually complete the race before they hand over the cup! Ya'know.. that's the kind of drama we need.. the top 2 get taken out in the first few laps and then Harvick comes out as the leader of the race and the points lead!!
Now THAT would stir the pot! rofl..
Merry Christmas ya'll
