Great pics! I really enjoyed seeing them and thinking about how car production and life in general was so different back then.
Not sure what you mean. I still see car carrier trucks just about every day. Maybe because I drive the PA Turnpike every day and the commercial traffic from the ports inland accounts for still seeing many of these carriers.Nick

I don't know everything about anything, and I don't know anything about lots of things.
'47 Ford sedan. 350 -- 350, Jaguar irs + ifs.
'49 Morris Minor. Datsun 1500cc, 5sp manual, Marina front axle, Nissan rear axle.
'51 Ford school bus. Chev 400 ci Vortec 5 sp manual + Gearvendors 2sp, 2000 Chev lwb dually chassis and axles.
'64 A.C. Cobra replica. Ford 429, C6 auto, Torana ifs, Jaguar irs.

Great pictures, thanks for the post… i think the '64 was mine… had one just like it… trunk big enough to sleep in..You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

Did you guys notice in the first set of pictures, at the Caddilac employment window, on the wall is another sign that says, "Remember Pearl Harbor"....

Holy crap, Mike! I finally clicked on this thread and what a treat!!! Red pickup? Sure, why not!! I think I even saw my '37 on that assembly line pic!
Don't know why but I've always loved assembly line pics of '59 Chevys being built.
