just thought i would post an update. he now has earned the rank of petty officer. he is out to sea for 3 more months and loves it. he plans on buying another 71 monte in the spring for us to work on.

Hoorah Navy! So he's a PO3 Barb? What's his rating?

My dad was an MM3 in WWII Pacific Theater and a Shellback.

Howdy Barb. I didn't know he was on deployment already you have every reason to be proud. If he enjoys it that's great. A new monte project that will be cool. You guys have a great thanksgiving and tell Charlie I said hello. Maybe someday him and Mat will meet.

Thanks for posting the update, Barb! I got my PO3 crow as an ADR, which is an Aviation Machinist's Mate (Radial) and it's a big step in perks along with the added responsibilities. Good for him, getting the bump quickly! I can't add much to what's already been said, so Happy Thanksgiving!!

thanks everyone. i will pass along the messages to charlie. he caught a ride with the virginia to do his quals. says that he misses home alot but everytime he is in a port and calls sounds like he is partying. i hope cffisher that they meet too. he will be stationed back at newport news when he comes home. sent my hubby scotch that knocked him on his butt.
