Thread: a 40+ year association has ended

.... after 43 years of association, I have decided to end my membership in the NHRA ......... I have stayed with them through the good times and the bad, but I really can't justify the expense any more ......... too many "cookie cutter" cars (even in the sportsman classes) .............. it has indeed become an organization driven by money, rather than a love for the sport

I hope you aren't going to dump your models!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this was going to be your divorce report. Which it sort of is, but not from your wife. I can see from your double frowny faces that you have many great memories of all those years. Jerry mentions "models" so probably some mammaries, too. I hope you find another venue that gives you as much satisfaction as your best times with the NHRA.

Yes Nick, I do have great memories ............. I was lucky enough to watch and compete during the "Golden Age" of drag racing (early '60's through the late '70's) .............. and I was also fortunate enough to meet some wonderful people and establish some remarkable friendships

As for models, they're not the female type, simply recreations from those great days ........ and my examples will all be courtesy of John & Jerry

And as for the other two cars-front engine car is in process of restoration and rear engine car is in a trailer behind a transmission shop near Pearl Harbor------------
