'tis Snow Good Mojo...
Folks, enjoy your homes tonight!!!
Due to extreme winter weather, 2 crews are definitely working atleast 24hrs. & quite possibly 36hrs.!!!
We have " contingiencies " for such but ooohhhh man with 50-55mph wind, snowing, & drifting snow it is extreemly cold outside!!
No one will be outside so thats a plus!!
So I am just hoping no one gets stranded away from home!!!
Gosh I will miss my own heated bed!!:-(
Take care All. Stay safe, stay alive!!!
:-)

My son-in-law took his 11 year old son to Indianapolis to see the Chief's debacle Saturday, spent the night and were heading back this morning. They made it to Effingham a little before noon and decided to stop and get a room instead of taking the chance of being off the road. He's in a "new" F150 truck, but said that I70 looked like it had not been traveled when they stopped, no lane clear, and no tracks to follow because the snow & wind were so bad. Hoping for better roads through Illinois and western Missouri tomorrow morning.
Stay safe out there, T-Top.Roger

That is true here too. I left my house at 3:30 this morn & got to work at 4:30.
Normal travel is about 25-30mins.
The final 7 mile stretch from a small town to work had not been plowed since yesterday morning. Snow up to my bumper, drifts above headlights, its an 08 Honda Civic 5spd.
Very good idea for them to pull off!!!
Hope they make it safe!!

They got as far as St Louis and said I70 turned into a sheet of ice, too cold for the chemicals to melt. They're in St Charles, MO, a western suburb of St Louis, down for the night. Roads are clear from just west of Columbia, but that 150 miles from St Charles is not pretty....Last edited by rspears; 01-06-2014 at 05:14 PM.

I took the Xmas tree 3 steps out the door today and decided that was far enough (and long enogh) Hope everybody safe until this is over as the wind/snow conditions create very dangerous driving and its suicide if you run off road into ditch----------too many black ice bridges anymore
I was looking out the door and got to thinking---if I was still flying I'd probably be heading to South America or Australia/New Zealand----------well for 30 hours or so--------
