Got it set on the DVR, Randy. I'll give it a shot and hope that they don't get into drama and stick to subject matter. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks, guys! My buddy's name is Jeff. On the show they call him "Pretty boy" His daily driver is a 55 Chevy 2 door wagon. You can get a glimpse of it in one of the trailers for the show.

I mostly agree. The whole short deadline (8 weeks) stress load to add drama is old hat and then toss in the "young guns" trying to prove themselves. It's all been done before.

I'll probably continue to watch though.. nothing better on that I can see. At least they aren't mining for gold with manufactured drama! Oh wait.. that's friday nights...

A & E Rodeo Girls-------------------I kinda got started as we ran across it while they were headed for Red Bluff Rodeo--Robin grew up in Red Bluff and her mother worked in the office at fairgrounds so we ended up watching the remaining part of that segment since they took the remote away from me(channel clicker) and then the next week was the end of season-----------Oh, well, back to O"Reilly---at least they sell car parts?????

I saw most of the program last night and got tired of them making shuch a big deal of sweeping and mopping but when they got to the 42k and 2 weeks part, I checked out-----------

Don, that should be right up your alley, you're always showing how quick you get sh*t done in your one-man shop, they should be able to pull it off with all the help they have available, would have thought you would relate to that part of the storyline.

I watched about five minutes. I guess I am over sensitized to the drama now. As soon as they stop talking about the cars, and get off onto some other crap, I'm gone!

If it were up to me, these shows would teach some basic skills, and the process and reasoning behind them... tell us why they made certain choices... maybe talk about current trends, or emerging trends... see if the owner of a car wants to gain broad approval of his toy, or show some "rebel" individuality (It used to be called customizing)... and generally talk about the project planning and execution. Is that too boring for today's audience??? I think it should be aimed more at motorheads, and future motorheads, instead of bored video gamers and do-nothings.

Once it turns to personalities... throwing wrenches... playing jokes... and especially those overly dramatized and totally unbelievable story lines... I'm gone! And I won't be back. }:-(

Randy, from the "reviews" here I hope that your buddy has banked or invested his chunk of money from Discovery Channel wisely. He and his family may be instant "celebrities", but most of these non-reality show folks are at best flash in the pan "stars" with a bit of temporary recognition. Case in point the Vegas pawn shop family, Rick the restoration guy, and the clown calling himself "Count".

I was really dissapointed about the show. The Camaro deal I thought was way odd that they really for real gave $9500 for that car? Wow, then they don't do their own paint work? I was shocked on that. But I suppose some hot rod shops don't do their own paint work for reasons like EPA and such. The short dead line on the hot rod build seems just how people are these days and didn't seem odd to me. I'm sure it can be done for $42k but in 3 weeks, I doubt it.
