You'd think at this level of competition and all those sponsors that 48 team could have afforded another $2.00 worth of fuel!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Looks like it's going to be hard to beat the Gibbs boys.............at least two of them. From appearances nearly all the vets are starting to figure out the new config. Johnson seems snake bit so far, and Cousin Carl may not quite have this figured as well as most others, but my vote for sleeper is Gordon. He just seems awful calm all things considered, and hasn't done much of that drop from the front, pull back up, drop again thing. Just sits in the rockin' chair waiting for the opportunity..........
Smoke and his Type A gang could do a lot of mixin' it up all day.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 02-21-2014 at 06:59 AM.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

From what I'm seeing it's a drivers game once again. Those that watch and have patience will do well, those that are impatient, will bring up the rear.
But even if they are in the rear, but are smart, work well with the others, they have a chance to work their way back up. And that's all we can ask for as viewers.

Hmmmmm, no comment about the big race? Let me guess........................not a popular win with this crowd.
Pretty much the best cars/drivers ended up at the front in the end. Like him or not, Ol' Jr. drove the last quarter of the race like he owned it. Didn't get much help from his "team mate" Johnson, but Gordon did him real good on the last restart. Hamlin made a valiant effort and the Biff looked pretty good toward the end. This newest package sure beats hell out of the two car draft joke of a couple years ago.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Heck of a good race and good to see Earnhardt win one again, so close so many times!!!! Superspeedways are going to be a combination of a good driver who can feel the car, and a shrewd crew chief who can recognize opportunities and take advantage of them!!!! The larger spoiler is going to lead to much improved handling on the tracks that are 1 1/2 mile or less! All the Hendrick cars looked good at different times through the entire week so they'll definitely be the teams to keep up with this year! All I'll say about those who criticize NASCAR and get bored watching the races is that you probably don't appreciate or understand the intricacies of being competitive at this level, or you'r just not a circle burner fan.... For the rest of us, get ready for one heck of a good season!!! Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and the Trucks all put on some great races at Daytona and it's a sign of 3 very hotly contested championships this year!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

HMMmmm.. my first reply seems to have vaporized.. any how, I fell asleep and when I woke up, it was over! I didn't find out the winner until the news monday morning.. Good for JR., he's come in second far to many times!! LOL..
The fords did good I thought, they fought their way to the front a number of times, no one can argue that! But they didn't have the experience to hang out there.. Jr's one of the best at that art!
Now let's see if this works.. cause I ain't doing it a third time! LOL..
Thank you Roger. .
