But Shine, history will tell you that America only got involved because the Japs attacked Pearl Harbour and your Pressie of the day wanted no part of the European action until then, FACT. Also you, the American people like to make out that it was only you blokes that saved the day for the English, again only in your wet dreams is that the case. And while you have me wiled, who dropped nuclear bombs on Japan after they had surrendered ???
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

If Roosevelt hadn't through the Lend Lease Act, England would have fallen as would have Russia and once we were attacked at Pearl Harbor the bulk of our energy was used in Europe.
The dock workers in New Zealand almost scuttled the Guadalcanal invasion with their refusal to work, so we sealed the area off and our servicemen did it themselves.
Both New Zealand and Australia were vulnerable to Japanese invasion since most of their servicemen were off in Africa or wherever trying to save the King's bacon.
And Japan did not surrender until after both bombs were dropped, August 14, 1945.
If we hadn't come to your rescue you'd either be speaking German or Japanese.
Don't try to rewrite history, we have enough of that here.

WWII was over 60+ years ago. Rehashing who did what and what methods were used to win the war have absolutely nothing to do with modern conflict..... The US has a larger military budget then the next 7 first world countries COMBINED!!!!! At the start of WWII the US had a standing military of less then 300,000 personnel and a very low industrial output of military equipment. Gearing up production, the draft, scrap metal and rubber drives, fuel rationing and many other things were essential. Not so today...we have military personnel stationed around the world, we have aircraft that can take off from their US bases, bomb any target in the world, and return to their home base. We have stockpiles of conventional and nuclear weapons stored all over the world. The last thing this country needs to do is get involved in the Ukraine conflict----someone tell me who's side we should be on, and what is our position on the issues? Or, for that matter, what are the issues that directly, indirectly, or even remotely effect the safety or well being of the US??

Not our country, not our continent, not our war, and none of our business to try to influence the outcome. Bring our troops home, secure our own borders, cut the military budget to a common sense level, and let's get this country employed, economically sound, and back on the path of Liberty and Justice for All.......

I will not get involved in this discussion, I was merely stating historical fact as it was written in the history books that were available to me in the 50's and history as it was taught to me while in Marine Corps boot camp in 1961.
